Watson took to his Instagram to post a picture of him in a Browns uniform. Since it’s not official yet, Watson mocked up a photo of himself wearing No. 4 with Cleveland. The post can be seen below with Watson’s caption.

“Cleveland, LETSSSS GOOOO!! (emoji) #DawgPound Ready To Work!,” Watson wrote on Instagram.

And then they need to find somebody else for him to throw to. Unless they dig up some gems in the draft, the WR situation could get really dicey.

There are several all-22 cutups from the 2020 season and I'm pouring through them. But so far, Watson has been incredibly efficient as a passer having Will Fuller, Brandin Cooks, Randall Cobb, Jordan Akins and Duke Johnson.
Not exactly a murderers row of offensive skill position talent. Although Cooks is a legit deep threat, I don't think anyone is going to confuse Will Fuller, Akins or 2020 Cobb as elite players. 2012 Randall Cobb maybe?

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, yes, we need some skill position talent. But Watson has shown enough in his short career to indicate you won't need too much to make this passing game hum along provided you protect him.

Interesting article, (maybe worth) reading.....

Browns' acquisition of Deshaun Watson proves one thing: There's no bottom for the NFL

Entire article: https://sports.yahoo.com/browns-acq...g-theres-no-bottom-for-the-nfl-233148261.html

Controversy aside, the Browns structured the contract in such a way that Watson’s contract has a $1 million cap hit in 2022.

Deshaun Watson contract includes contingency for possible suspension?

The NFL can still suspend Watson even if he is not found criminally liable. The league has done this in the past in other instances, and the contractual language indicates that Watson’s representatives think it is at least possible here.

Entire article: https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/arti...gency_for_possible_suspension/s1_127_37319221

The contract with the Browns protects Watson if he gets suspended in 2022: so if he gets suspended by the league his income loss would be prorated on the $1M.

Baker Mayfield eyes Indianapolis Colts after Deshaun Watson traded to Cleveland Browns

"I've talked to some execs around the league and they figured Mayfield may be worth a Day 2 pick, maybe a second-round pick or a couple third-round picks, similar to the Carson Wentz deal in Washington," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said this week. "Either way, Mayfield right now is firm on his desire to be trade and I'm told the Colts are one team he's very intrigued by."

Entire article: https://247sports.com/college/ohio-...erIytYh4JjpZa8l22oYxkkbkJ1h61d3QwxbCfYTFqIoeo

Just sayin': Mayfield doesn't have a no trade" clause so he goes to whoever Cleveland trades him to. It would be nice for the Browns if multiple teams wanted him, got in bidding war, and in effect drove up the price for him. Anyway, a couple 2nd day draft picks may not be all that bad. Here are S/I's top 100 players in the 2022 draft:

https://www.si.com/nfl/2022/03/18/2022-nfl-draft-top-100-big-board-prospects-update

There are some real good ones after the top 32 that could be 2nd or 3rd rounders, like #77 and #93:

77. Nicholas Petit-Frere, OT, Ohio State (rJR, 6'5", 316 pounds)
93. Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State (SR, 6'5", 250 pounds)

Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing Deshaun Watson's 22 accusers, says the Cleveland Browns did not contact him before trading for the Houston Texans quarterback, according to ESPN's John Barr. The Browns released a statement Sunday saying the franchise did "extensive" research prior to the acquisition after a grand jury declined to formally charge Watson on March 12. Watson could still be disciplined by the NFL under the league's Personal Conduct Policy, but as of now will not face charges in Texas relating to sexual assault allegations that date back to 2021.

“The Browns organization did not reach out to me. I didn’t expect them to do so, and can understand why they didn’t," Buzbee told Barr. "But, knowing what I know, they probably should have."

Some of these rumors have been floated in articles over the last few days, but it's not about Deshaun Watson..

Browns targeting Akiem Hicks?

Browns bringing back Jarvis and Clowney?

Browns interested in Fuller

They were interested in Robert Woods

Browns sign Taven Bryan

I've heard 2 years $15 mill for Jarvis and 2 years $30 mill for Clowney, but I haven't really looked too hard for a source on those numbers. I'd love to see Akiem Hicks. Problem with all of those names (aside from Bryan) is that they have all missed a lot of time in the last couple years. But Garrett, Hicks, Bryan and Clowney on the d-line would be pretty ridiculous on the off-chance they are all healthy.

I didn't know much about Bryan. He seems like a really good pickup. Was fairly productive in Jacksonville, former first rounder. With talent around him on the line, his production should increase. But I haven't seen much of him.

Seems another free agent WR will be signed, given the interest in Woods and Landry.

Also saw that they could convert a lot of Cooper's money to signing bonuses to save cap. So maybe they won't have to cut him to keep Ward/Garrett.

Oh, one other thing.

Please don't, Berry.

The Browns have taken a lot of shit for the Watson trade. Much of it deserved, but one good side effect seems to be other players have added the Browns to their list of destinations due to Watson. He is one of a handful of QB's that other players are drawn to play with. Nobody was coming to Cleveland to play with Baker without a huge overpay. Hopefully some of the teams that don't have a QB get into a bidding war for Baker so the Browns can get something for him. He's never going to be elite, but he can be an above average game manager with potential to have a great game every once in a while.

I'm all about bringing in Antonio Brown. Just for the comedy.
