Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

I might be way off base because I usually am but I do not think they will renew his contract after next year if there is no drastic improvement in his play and the team's.

I don't think you are off base. I don't think Baker will even get the 5th year option picked up without drastic improvement. If they determine that he isn't the future the rest of this season I could see them picking a QB. I can only imagine the reaction from the draft in Cleveland if the Browns spend a bunch of picks to trade up for a QB.

Right. I mean, so, its not like Baker doesn't deserve to be benched (Maybe), but, most of the arguments in favor of it end up being self defeating once the reality of replacing him is factored in.

Fitzmagic beating the Steelers or Ravens on the road? Is Case Keenum? No. Is there anything you're going to find out about those 2 guys you don't already know? (Yeah, I know I already said they aren't beating these incarnations of the Steelers and Ravens on the road in the week they played them).

And this isn't any of you guys, but you read the "analysis" and the underlying fear is, that Mayfied is good enough to beat teams they should but not beat actual good teams and as a result not win in the playoffs etc. I don't see the downside in 10 more games, and seeing how the rest of the team responds to big games too. And Stefanski himself.

Now, before we go all, "what about the Vikings in 2017" - they were #1 in the NFL in total defense. (And they still got smoked by the Steelers at Heinz).

End of the day, I think Stefanski is headed in the right direction, he's the QB expert, I think its best to let him and AVP manage the situation with Mayfield and see if they can help him, either coaching or playcalling, etc.

Heck, right now there are 4 teams in the AFC worth a broke dick and if 3 of them lose their QB they'll be immediately pedestrian, you have to play this till the end and see what you have.... are we tired of suffering all of the sudden?
Stefanski and AVP could take a lesson from Kyle Shanahan on how he came up with a gameplan to make a still hobbled Jimmy G look very good against the Rams on Sunday night. Designed a bunch of short/quick throws to get the ball in the hands of their playmakers and let them get ample YAC.

There were plenty of short throw schemes against Pittsburgh on Sunday. Baker just hardly got the ball out to those receivers.

You can go X's and O's all day, but at the end of it, your trigger man has to do just that - pull the trigger. Otherwise it really doesn't matter what you're doing.

Wonder if ATL would take a 5th for Benkurt?

I mean Rosen has to be pretty cheap.

I mean yeah, if the ball isnt gonna come out quick, quick passes aren't... Uhhh.. yeah.

Next I will talk about mysterious football truths like winning the turnover battle and how the punt is the most important play in football.

Unfortunately that was also all real shit in that game. Dont go down 10-0... And you can attack Watt and Dupree instead of having to run from them. You're not getting the ball from the Steelers while they're winning the game... Etc. etc.... And we need turnovers to be successful. We have to be in blitz scenarios for Garret to be effective, all that obvious shit.

So, somewhere in all that pile of weird shit... Stef, AVP and Baker need to figure out where he can make a difference when things aren't going their way.

Gotta be able to see to throw short. I'm convinced Mayfield can't see his receivers when they are inside the hashmarks when he's in the pocket.

Remember when they tried to convince us this wasn’t Baker Mayfield?
