Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

The Clowns first 20 or so years of existence was littered with terrible teams that completely lacked star players (aside from Joe Thomas). Think about it - who from 1999-2017(ish) would you say was a star on this team for more than one flash in the pan season? They whiffed on countless top 5/top 10 picks, made horrible FA signings, and could not find stars lower in the draft. Since about 2017 they've added cornerstone pieces like Myles, Denzel, and Chubb. Throw Bitonio in there, too. That's 4 elite players that they utterly failed to build around. Now Myles wants out, and they pissed away Chubb's and Bitonio's primes. How long until Denzel says he's had enough? They failed with almost 20 years of scrubs and now have failed with a pretty elite core of players. They really are the gold standard of failure.

Probably as soon as Garrett gets traded.

I hope Denzel demands a trade.....I'd love nothing more than to legit start from scratch with as much draft capital as possible.

It sounds way more fun that watching good players waste their remaining good years playing for a TERRIBLE team.

Really feel for Stefanski too....I legit think he's a top 5 NFL coach who was RAILROADED by incompetent ownership and management.

Oh it's worse than that. Joe Thomas, yes, that's the obvious one. But they also had one draft pick, the one other one they really hit on, in the same OL, Alex Mack (7x Pro Bowl, All Decade Team, likely HOFer). ALlex made most of those Pro Bowls as soon as he left to block for Matt Ryan in Atlanta. And guess who else was on that same OL for like 3 years? Mitchell Schwartz, who went 3x Pro Bowl as soon as he left this shithouse and went to KC. All 3 guys, same offensive line. And this franchise was still a dumpster fire. And those other 2 didn't reach anywhere near their potential until they escaped the suck.

That's what I'm thinking. If/when they fire Stefanski he's going to go on and be one of the best coaches. There's a reason why the offense gets better every time Watson gets hurt. Find him a better version of Joe Flacco and see what he can do.

So glad I don’t even pretend to waste my Sundays on these guys anymore.
I walked away shortly after they drafted Weeden in 2012. Don't get wrapped up in the misery, haven't been to a game, haven't bought a single piece of merch...nothing. Life is so much better when you no longer care about this baboon orgy anymore for anything but a comedy fix.

Sure spend a lot of time in here tho lol
He's drawn to trainwrecks.
As am I, when it comes to the Browns.

I stopped following the Browns 10-15 years ago. Hated having fall Sundays that sucked so much ass.
I stop by this thread, because it's literally the only way I hear about the next step down the ladder that the organization takes.

My dad and brother still follow the Browns. Will never understand why.
