As Buckeye fans, we constantly rip on Baylor for using a gimmicky air raid offense, for being in a conference that plays absolutely no defense, for playing the weakest schedule in college football, and for running up the score against all those patsies.

Then the Browns spend the #15 overall pick on the player who was the primary beneficiary of Baylor's air raid, patsy-thumping, stat-inflating offense, and now as Browns fans we're supposed to be excited about this selection?

Last season, Browns fans endlessly complained about having a bunch of sub-six-foot wide receivers. Coleman is a sub-six-foot wide receiver.

Last season, Browns fans endlessly complained about wide receivers dropping passes. Coleman dropped 10 passes in 2015, for a drop rate of 11.9%.

Every draft, Browns fans complain about reaching for players. Coleman was generally projected to be drafted #22-#25, and was almost certainly not the best player available at #15; he probably wasn't even the best wide receiver available.

EDIT: Baylor football has been under a ton of scrutiny lately, and the Browns have been burned by two former Baylor players (Phil Taylor, Josh Gordon). I hope that the Browns did their due diligence with Coleman.
Mike Mayock: "Coleman doesn't run a route tree"

So Cleveland

Never would've seen this coming. Never, I tells ya....

Let's recap that Carson Wentz trade again:

Philadelphia got Carson Wentz, apparently a bona fide franchise quarterback.

Cleveland got the following in return:

Corey Coleman
Jabrill Peppers
DeShone Kizer
Shon Coleman
Cody Kessler
Ricardo Louis
Spencer Drango
Derrick Kindred
Jordan Payton

Only Peppers, Shon Coleman, Drango, and Kindred are still with the team, and only two of those (Peppers, Drango) are starters.

I'm certainly no NFL expert, but it seems like the Browns might've lost this trade.

If you had included Uncle Rico, I would have no reason to doubt you.

They should seriously fire their entire scouting department and make their pick by throwing a dart at a dartboard while blindfolded.

Has little to do with the scouts. That entire group is on record being completely against the Manziel pick.

When you have GM's, front offices and a hill-jack ownership thinking they're the smartest fucking people in the NFL is when you run into problems.

Meanwhile there isn't a man alive that has posted in these Browns threads that wasn't screaming their head off for Michael Thomas.

Exactly. My (admittedly poorly stated) point was that there's no point of having a scouting department if the ownership/management isn't going to listen to them.....

My mother who knows very damned little about football could take Athlon's draft preview guide and be more successful than these 'experts'

I think anyone on this forum could make better picks than the front office, and working together*, there'd probably be at least one playoff run by this point.

*Who am I kidding? There's no way working together would last more than a few minutes before the paint chips come out, and then all bets are off.

Chips or sober, we'd still do better. Bank on it.
