Problem is they need 2 more weapons at receiver and Njoku has to catch.
Hill is the fastest man in the NFL, you can't duplicate that. Plus his footwork has been getting better and he has solid hands. Calloway is quick but he doesn't threaten a defense like hill.
Sammy Watkins is a taller receiver that can give you some YAC but isn't a polished route runner. Then you have to contend with Kelce and Hunt, plus Mahomes is still a scrambling threat.
Where to begin? Chubb looks like he has a very promising future and Duke compliments him well. Higgins is your #3, Landry your #2 and reliable chain mover. Now you need Njoku to get his head out of his ass, catch the ball
and learn the subtleties of his position. Once again, I still haven't seen that little stick n nod from him all year. Do we not know that move eats these backers alive? Now you just need a #1 receiver.
The oline? Well Hubbard is replaceable. Desmond has talent but is that a risk you're willing to take? Zietler and Bito are pieces. Tretter I'm kind of ho-hum on but clearly him putting on weight in the off-season hasn't helped much.
I just don't think much of him in an offense that is still much of Hue's philosophy.
I guess this is why I'm rather adamant about a McVay, Shannihan, Reid coaching tree and why Bieneinmy is catching my attention. (spell check again) Reid is a good coach but the stretch of offensive play being put together right
now needed another man behind the scenes and I'm a firm believer he is that man. This KC group had almost the exact same personnel last year save for Alex Smith, who is plenty capable but doesn't threaten the defense vertically like Mahomes. Even then, what they're doing now with some of these formation and personnel groupings is beyond what I saw last year. They have a forward thinking OC right now who is going to be a big name for coaching positions very soon.
