But that brings a whole other level of things into consideration. Football is a business as much as it is a game. And most coaches don't like distractions and most franchises don't like paying backups with baggage more than the going backup QB rate.....either way it's a headache the Browns don't need....

It's a headache no team needs. The reasons are clearly different, as was their level of play, but it's also why Tebow and Manziel didn't get chances as back ups QBs.

No coach wants to spend his weekly presser fielding questions about his back up QB, even when the starter is healthy and playing well, which is what happens when you have guys like that on the roster. They're popular and/or polarizing (for different reasons), and not worth the hassle.
