If the Browns draft MITCH, he will be Sally from that point on, forever.

I really believe that this is all to be expected. The draft is rapidly approaching and the Browns are going to make sure that they test the waters as to what possible ransom they can get with the first pick. The old saying that everyone is available for the right price (only this time, every pick is available) comes to mind. I will be pretty disappointed (saying this nicely) if they trade the pick but if they find someone who is willing to offer an RGIII (or better yet, a Ricky Williams) type trade up (not gonna happen) then you have to listen. So, hopefully, the Browns are just trying to stir that interest up to see what some other desperate team might be willing to give away. Again, I hope they just pick a damn player for once, and Sally sure as hell isn't worth the first pick. She is still far too unknown at this point to risk setting the franchise back for another eternity after the current eternity that they are set back ends.

Now to dig in to who would be worth the first pick...

Garrett of course is worthy of the first pick. This class is pretty deep though as far as pass rushers are concerned. They could draft a pass rusher in the lower part of the top 10 and have decent odds that he pans out just as well as Garrett. That is the only thing that helps me sleep at night when thinking of trading down. If they trade down, however, it becomes more likely that they take a QB IMO and next years class is where that position is deeper. Trade down, take best OL, defense, or even Mike Williams (who I think is a stud.) Take QB next year (I know, I say that a lot) where you are either still drafting very high OR can trade some of your 1,000 picks to get the guy you want.

None of this will happen.

If the Browns DO take a QB, I hope it is Watson. He's a winner. He carved up two defenses (Ohio State and Alabama) that have loads of NFL talent. He seems to be a person of high character (see: incident in Tuscaloosa bar.) Why not take the risk on Watson? At least he has more than a season's worth of games on tape. Trubisky hasn't shown me anything in his time as a starter that really wows me at all.

Nope. Not the first thing, necessarily, it's just one of many things. At least he isn't a loser. Part of the decision does need to be how they play. Drafting a QB because of measurables that never helped him win games in college probably doesn't translate well (not that winning games in college always translates, either.)

I just don't see the point of the Browns drafting any QB in this draft, let alone in the first round. Anyone of these guys is more than likely a reach, especially when they are going to get pounded in the pocket. So many needs, so many draft choices available, but one of these QBs isn't going to "save" this franchise.
