Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

No half measures.

Amen. I look forward to the suck, honestly. This time, they'll suck on purpose instead or trying and sucking. Another wise man feels the same way.

I look forward to the suck in Philly as well. They're down to a rookie with a fractured a rib in his only preseason action and some dude named Chase Daniel who, I'm pretty sure played football at Missouri. Win.

BTW everyone is 100% sure Philly didn't have clause to give a different 1st rounders if they acquired one IE since they got the vikings they could give the Clowns the Vikings 1st instead of their own?

Since the "rebirth", this snuff film has made 21 selections in the first round, 10 of those in the top 10. Of those 21 selections, I'd argue that three of them have panned out...Joe Thomas, Thomas Mack and Joe Haden. A handful of others managed a good season or two...Winslow, Edwards, Wimbley. Several were unmitigated flops...Quinn, Richardson, Weeden, Mingo, Gilbert, Manziel. Most of the others were middling contributors, or did just enough for a year or two to not be considered total disasters; and of course the jury is still out on guys like Shelton, Erving (doesn't look promising), and Coleman.

It's a dead horse at this point, but how a "professional" sports organization can draft that poorly over that long a period is mind boggling. You almost have to believe they're intentionally fucking it up to preserve your sanity.

just goes to show that this front office things that they know what they are doing
Well I'll give them some time before I just dismiss them. Not even a single game played and they took over a complete shit show. This team is years away from anything resembling a good roster but I like Hue and the FO's direction so far.

And shouldn't they be confident in their picks? I get it, easy to shit on the Browns

Well, the problem I have with this front office is that if they are going to blow up the whole team which they seem to be doing why did not they trade Josh McCown to Minnesota or Dallas. I mean if they are going to give up on the next couple seasons, which they seem to be doing, do a full blow up and not a half ass one.

You and I both know that half of these draft picks did not even play in all of the preseason games so how did they evaluate them… Moneyball

Implying Dallas or Minny would trade for him

Implying McCown doesn't bring experience to the QB room where vets are valued on rebuilding teams
