Yes. TB won a SB with Brad Johnson in 2002, the sucked 3 of the next 4 seasons and haven't won a playoff game since. A good sustainable QB is paramount to more than one season.

Those seem like exceptions and not realities. I can at least point to other QBs aside from Brady that also prove my point since the Browns have returned to the league.

The facts are indeed simple facts - presented without context.

How did the Pats becomes "solid" in the first place? They drafted Drew Bledsoe #1 overall and built around him. He took them to a Super Bowl in his own right.

Tom Brady was a lottery ticket - one that the Patriots could afford to play because they were already on solid footing as a franchise with an established, top-tier QB.

After doing some pretty extensive research on the QB issue we have been discussing, it only makes sense for the Browns to select a QB at #2. The likelihood of the Browns picking up a "good" or "developmental" QB in the later rounds is a crapshoot at best. Take a look:

I thought about doing the same thing with the other positions but thought better of it. Ultimately the key to winning, or competing in, the Super Bowl is having a very good to great QB. For example, Montana 4-0; Bradshaw 4-0. But to add, both had great supporting casts and very good defenses. Staubach, Brady, Eli, Peyton, and Elway. WOW! 29 Super Bowl appearances between those seven gentlemen.

I think the Browns should get Wentz at No. 2 and then see who is available later, like Cardale or Hogan. Having two guys compete beyond RGIII might not be a bad idea. Of course with bringing RGIII in it probably doesn't leave any roster room.

Maybe worse if they don't fix the O-Line. Right now, they have Thomas (LT), Bitino (LG), Erving(C), Greco (RG), and ????. Alvin Baily, Darrian Miller and very little depth. Here's to hoping the FO has a plan other wise Brian Hartline might end up being the QB for this team by season's end.

Pasztor. Whom I might add has shown out very well at guard.

Without doubt the Oline needs to be addressed in the draft, however there is still talent there to form a solid unit.
