Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

Here's chart that kinda explains what each pick is worth.. and how it can play out

http://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp

so if we trade the #2 pick (2600 points); pretend we trade w SF... we should be able to get Rd 1 #7 (1500 points): Rd 2 #37 (530); Round 4 #105 (84 points).. so that's only 2114.. leaving 486 points to make up.. into 2017 draft + players

Would that still be true if they pick up Bosa? Of, don't you think that will happen?
Why would drafting bosa help protect RG3? I guess if they draft Bosa RG3 will be running for his life more in practice.

the Browns run a 3-4 so Joey will not be coming to Cleveland and he probably should be grateful for that---his stock has dropped a little and he might not go in the first 5 picks in some mocks and I have looked at
It's an interesting feeling. You want Cleveland to draft well and start picking up their game, but I don't want them to draft Buckeyes because I want Buckeye alums to have the best chance at successful NFL careers.
Bosa will still go top 5-6, it's just the talking heads have used up all of the Bosa hype over the last 2 years and need some new click bait. Bosa to Dallas seems popular, some are saying San Diego could pick him up as 'best available', but Ramsey is also likely there. Many say Buckner is better for a 3-4 system, but I just can't see them grabbing Buckner over Bosa because he could fit the system better. I imagine Bosa could learn to play in a 3-4 day 1. He played inside a decent amount and is a stud in run stopping. Jax also needs to improve their pass rush, and I think they are looking at Ramsey, Jack and Bosa. I'd love to see him making it down to 9, but I don't see that happening.

My guesses
Browns trade #2 pick.. maybe get #1, #2, #4 and a player this year... #1, #3, #5 next
They have too many needs.. and free agency was anything but a bonanza
They go for DE, CB, WR, OT, DT, LB in first couple rounds
They take a QB but hope to get lucky on round 2 or 3.. RG III is their QB for next few years; they'd be smart to keep McGown; and Pryor is safety stock
This is what the Patriots would do. So the Browns of course won't.

I'm curious what a year-over-year trade value chart looks like. Less value due to the unknown of where the pick will be? I'd like to see them drop down to the 7-10, pick up another 2 (maybe 3 as well if going to 10) and another 1 and 3 for next year. They just need higher numbers of 1/2nd round players more than less but slighter better 1st rounders. RG3 with a couple of high OL picks and a receiver would be better IMO than Wentz with OL and no one to throw to. So I fully expect cleveland to trade up to 1 and go get Wentz, and lose their 2nd round pick.

The Pats also have a HOF QB on roster last I checked.
And the Patriots would still be competitive without him, IMHO, and the Browns would not be if the had him. I think the Browns would get him killed in the first two games of the season. Every time the Browns screw up another high draft pick on a qb, they do so at the expense of having quality at all the other positions. Hence, where we are and where we have been for a long long long time.

Well, if they are going to do a major rebuild the way they are talking and acting and we could get all those selections by trading down I would seriously consider it and maybe they can find a QB in later rounds or there is always wait until next year or take someone at #7. I have no idea what they are thinking.

Facts are simple facts. The Patriots won with a QB drafted in the 6th round. Did I miss where that draft reclassified Brady as the first QB taken? Maybe Brady won those Super Bowls because he was drafted by a good team (he was.) Insane that it could happen, I know. But were the Patriots really the Patriots before Brady came along? They were just solid. And the best part is...ANYBODY can do it. The Patriots don't have a patent on winning. Plus in between those wins by Brady (which conveniently you'd like me to leave out as much as you think it is convenient for me to use them,) other QBs not drafted first overall won Super Bowls as well. Brady is simple another example of a QB who can be great that doesn't have to be drafted at the tippy top by a [Mark May]ty team to win.

In fact, using recent history this century, it seems like you use the same type argument using an all time great in Peyton Manning and his own blood in Eli to prove that drafting a QB first overall is the way to go. Those seem like exceptions and not realities. I can at least point to other QBs aside from Brady that also prove my point since the Browns have returned to the league.

What I believe it highlights, and everyone keeps missing, is that the Patriots are outstanding when it comes to talent evaluation.
They don't draft what the media tells them to. That scouting report on Manziel was dead on too... but hype and bowing to media pressure is how teams like Cleveland and Al Davis Oakland draft.

It cracks me up that the argument to draft a QB is ass backwards. People apparently think you could draft hackeysack #2 overall and that means he'll be a great player.

Way I see it we can get Bosa and Watson. But people would rather have Goff and Barnett.

I gave up smoking marijuana years ago for a lot less than this fucktard has. When it was time, I just stopped. Who knew it could be so easy and yet a guy with millions on the line could find it so hard?
