Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

The second the news came out about him checking himself into rehab my first thought was either:

A) The NFL should be announcing a failed drug test in 3...2...1...

OR

B) This was an entirely preemptive move by Gordon because there was a hammer about to drop somewhere else

Speculation on talk radio here is that he already failed one, but it's hard to say. Of course conspiracy theorists also posit that this is a ploy for him to get the Bro me to cut him so he can go play for the Patriots

I hope it's this. That way, it means he hasn't fucked up again (for his and his life's sake) AND I can have Gordon on the Patriots on my fantasy team.

Of course it won't be this.

*disclaimer: I only drafted Gordon with a late round pick as a lottery ticket. I definitely was not counting him as one of my top 3 receivers.

Josh Gordon actively shopped by Browns before entering rehab

The Cleveland Browns actively pursued a trade involving Josh Gordon before the talented but troubled wide receiver decided to check himself into an inpatient rehabilitation facility, multiple sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Browns had discussions about Gordon with other teams as recently as last week and were looking to acquire a first- or second-day draft pick, sources told Schefter.

But Gordon's trade value crashed after his announcement Thursday that he will enter the rehab facility, citing a need to "gain full control of my life."

One source familiar with Gordon's case told Schefter that the receiver would not have decided to enter the facility "without slipping up."

I don't even know what to say about what we've seen the past couple weeks...

I do think Hue Jackson actually has a plan and they are actually following along with it. This doesn't feel like Shurmur the Colostomy Bag or Pettine where they were just filling the role, it's clear Hue has a plan and a way they want to play and they are playing to it.

Whether or not that amounts to anything, we shall see, but what we're seeing out of TP, Crowell and Kessler so far is encouraging....

These guys look like the Indians in the sense that their scrap heap acquisitions are panning out some...we can hope their high draft picks do too

Danny is much improved this year, Coleman flashed before he got hurt. Ogbah hasn't registered a sack but he's done decent against the run and generated some pressures. So far, I can't complain too much.
