Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

Can they just get the season over with now.. I mean this team is bad and I expected more from their HC. I know that Jackson had a lot of talent down in Cincinnati and I did not follow him in Oakland but from what I have seen today I do not think he any offensive genius. I do not know maybe he is trying too hard.

Everybody thought Charlie Weis was a genius with his 'schematic advantage'. Only issue with that is there are other great minds in this league that will see what you do best and shut it the fuck down.

Half field reads, Max protect, rollouts, option game. That will all get shut down and if you can't maximize your production from the QB spot its a rocky season.

I listed to the game on the radio and I'm calling out plays just based on formation Jimmy D is yelling out. The heavy 22 with the go to coleman that was a sack, the second he said Coleman the lone wideout I said "its a go".
When I get a moment I'll go back and look at the posts that said Caron Wentz might not be a bad pick. I know I mentioned how high I was on him early. Other posters mentioned him as well. I cooled off a bit, but damn... missing out on another QB hurt.

As for Robert, McCown was superior in camp, expecting this offense to be successful was a pipedream with the Skins castoff as a starter.

Week 1 against a terrible secondary and linebacking corps coupled with an inconsistent pass rush.

Mariota looked like a world beater week 1 last year. I'm not ready to call Wentz the savior of Philly but he had a solid outing for a rookie coming out of a D2 school.

How is saying that the browns would ruin Wentz anti Wentz?

It's not. I threw a touchdown against the Browns "defense" today. Big whoop. I'm not expecting any pats on the back. Many scrubs have beaten the Browns. This game in no way will prove either way who Carson Wentz is. Had he lost? Sure, he's a bum. But he won and yet, that doesn't pencil him in for greatness or there would be 31 "great" quarterbacks in this league because I can count 30 other quarterbacks who would have done the same today. Shaun Hill beat the Titans today. Anyone who watched today, and thought the difference between being an up and coming team and being a shit sandwich, was Carson Wentz, well...

Watching all of Robert's throws, I'm already comfortable saying he will not be a component to any up and coming team. Good lord did he missed some stuff today.

Absolutely. I never viewed him as such and sure hope nobody else did. Robert is doing what he's supposed to do...not win games that he shouldn't. What good are 4 wins going to do the Browns this year aside from screw them from getting the very top tier players in the draft next year? Still lots of holes to fill and watching the Browns yesterday, Wentz would have fallen through a couple massive holes and looked like a completely different, shattered quarterback on that "team" that was out there. There would be much different talk about him today.

What 4 teams are they going to beat for their 4 wins:huh: They are a very bad young team and they need to grow up fast and that is not going to happen unfortunately. Hell, even their All-Pro left tackle:lol: got beat like a drum. I do not think that Wentz looked that great yesterday except for a few good throws. I think that Philadelphia's offense scheme helped him out quite a bit and Cleveland's offense certainly did not do Griffin any favors. I think the offensive line for both teams are comparable.
