This is perfect, McCown will come in and look competent, then Hue will give III the job back and the press will eviscerate him.

"Josh played well, but RGIII is our starter..."

"But McCown played better, Hue. The offense was competitive."

"As I said, I knew Josh could come in for us and play well..."

"If you knew that, Hue, then why didn't he start in the first place? And why go back to RGIII now?

"RGIII is our starter..."

"Why, if he doesn't give you the best chance to win? Are you trying to win, Hue?"

"What kind of question is that, of course we're trying..."

"Did the front office tell you to go back to RGIII?"

"I make all decisions..."

"Then how can you say he gives you the best chance to win?"

It's incredible how accurate this is because its exactly what will happen. McCown looked better at camp plain and simple.

Hue forgot Woodys teachings -
"Anytime you give a man something he hasn't earned, you cheapen him".

I said it a while back, Hue handed Robert the starting job. All he had to not do was play like trash. He did just that.

When the offense looks more efficient under Josh it'll be so hard to ignore and Coach will take the trashing for it.

While no doubt, what you're saying here is accurate... I don't think much of it matters to be honest.

More important than playing like trash is, that well... I don't remember '14 off the top of my head but, from '15 to, what 10 weeks into 16 we're sure he'll only have played in 1 of 26(ish) games. (OK, I looked and he played in 9 games, starting 7 in '14) That he played like garbage is secondary to the reality that he can't be counted on to be on the field.

This was always about the big picture. Obviously McCown's age and ceiling is pretty much a known commodity. So, from that respect, I don't blame Hue for starting Griffin. But, in the end, we've learned what we needed to learn, and that's that we need yet another QB. (Kessler was a depth/development pick whether we like it or not, if he's something more, I'll eat my words happily)

Personally, in the end, McCown will make them more... no, wait... less inept. And the upside of that is, if you have young receivers (and TP is basically a rookie too) to evaluate... you want a QB that will get the ball in the neighborhood and see if any of these guys can make some plays.
