Cleveland Browns (2016 thread of unrelenting dumpster conflagration)

So, Josh Gordon manages to hold himself together for what, a month now? And teams are supposedly inquiring about him.

What do you think of this? I say keep him unless teams give up something decent. At this point I'd call Gordon "house money." If he plays like a stud, as he has in the past, great. If not, no real loss considering this team has been without him for so long. No team is going to give up that much at this point, all things considered. Last year when he came back, he had a decent game vs Atlanta and then disappeared. Give us something of value (which teams aren't very likely to do, but if so, take it,) or take a hike. That's the way I look at it. If he can play, he is worth way more to us then whatever we would get in return. If he plays and starts to light it up (no pun intended,) I'd hate to give that up but almost would have to do it once the return value increases. My faith in Gordon not getting suspended again is near non-existent.

Yeah unless someone gives up a first rounder (and I don't see anyone doing it), Cleveland needs to keep him and hope for the best. Per history, Browns aren't drafting anyone in rounds 2+ that can offer Gordon's potential.

Hated seeing Sheard let go more so than this.

Barky is a backer that can't hold up in underneath coverage, arrives at the ball carrier high and out of control.

Pass rushing obviously he screams off the edge but doesn't really have a counter move and much like the ball carrier, can arrive at the QB out of control.

Nice kid, wish him the best. The pats have the depth to allow him to be what they need, a situational pass rusher.

Shocking! A fifth-round pick!

#Browns receive fifth-round draft pick in 2017 from #Patriots for Barkevious Mingo, per league source.

A player that has been non-productive in Cleveland (nothing out of the ordinary). Getting a 5th rounder in exchange, even if its late in the 5th, could be a good trade for the Browns as long as they get "their guy".

I wonder if Coach Bill might be interested in any of our other flawed first-round draft choices before they might get waived. We only have 3 fifth-round draft choices next year and we can always add a fourth to screw that up also. Did anyone mention Justin Gilbert to him:wink:
