It depends if option 2 is Jonathan Allen. I don't trust any of the QB's in the top 10 and would be willing to wait till they find value in the second or third. Allen might be a better fit for what they want to do on defense at a position of need. Probably end up trading down again to 2 firsts next year.

My concern is does the front office know who the best player is given their past track record. Trading down is a good strategy if you have there front office that can identify talent. The Patriots have shown that this strategy works.

I don't know enough about any of the players to make a call. I don't mind trade downs as long as you don't waste the picks on guys like Gilbert, Johnny Crackhead, Weeden, Erving, Quinn and probably 20 other players over the past couple decades. I'm willing to give the front office another couple years to see what they can do. Last years draft looks to be one of the better ones the Browns have had recently (not saying much) so if they don't see value at #1 and drop back to a lower point in the top 10 I don't have a problem. Bosa might have been the only guy they could have taken at 2 that would have helped this year. As long as they can keep the good players they have they mostly need to fill holes at center, RT, defense, and QB. A few playmakers on defense might improve that group enough to be passable. I think skill players on offense are good if they can improve OL and QB play.

No QBs worth wasting a pick on any earlier than the 3rd. Browns either need to envelop one or get a decent vet with about 4 years left. I say build a nasty defense and running game and go from there.
