Mr. Such and Such
We've got the right QB. His name is Hoyer - and he's a ton better than anything we'd get in this draft.
The myth of Brian Hoyer lives on.

Seriously, 2+ good games with a number of turnovers proves very little. The myth of Brian Hoyer lives on.
I'm not saying the guy is the future. He sure isn't. But he does seem to have an ability to grasp ahold of an offense, make good decisions and distribute the ball. He had one game (his first) with multiple turnovers. One of those interceptions I can't even put on his shoulders. After that he efficient vs Cincy. Then the Buffalo game incident.
Yes 2 games is a small sample size. In that two games I thought the offense looked better than it did under Weeds and at times Campbell.
I just don't want to waste a pick on a QB this year because that's all it's going to be - a waste.
Would you be against trying to move the 4th pick for a first rounder in next years draft? I'm not super sold on any of these guys either and then the Browns would have ammo to move back up next year for a qb. I don't think there is any chance of it actually happening but just a thought.
Because it's one of the conditions the front office has set...was the same way with Chud, which rumor has it led partially to his firing. If he had input on the roster, he would have said so...he doesn't, at least in terms of having decision-making power. I'm sure he can give his input, but he won't be making the decisions. They don't give that kind of control to rookie HCs usually.didn't watch the PC but,
no sure saw on bills board he didn't want to hold up marrone (bills HC) and staff on next yr. and was close to coming back if Browns didn't offer job soon. Plus he got a 5 yr deal lot of $. He had complete control of Bills D, who he turned around, so why would he go be HC and not get to have major role in drafting and getting guys he likes. Turned a Bills D around like that. They get the right OC & QB I think you guys are .500+ team.

That's who plays, I am talking about what players to bring in, what players to draft, and what players to cut. Those are decisions the FO is making...then, I agree, Chud's happiness or lack thereof with the choices of players he had available were in conflict with the FO. Either way, he wasn't really here long enough to know how much input he truly had, I guess.chud did have roster input. that's why cleveland trotted out old man mcgahee week after week and didn't give bobby rainey any real burn. it's also why it took brandon weeden getting hurt and FO pressure to get hoyer in over campbell. part of the reason chud was fired was the fact that his many roster choices that were in conflict with what the front office wanted ended up being failures. the real lesson is, if you're going to butt heads with banner and lombardi, you better not be totally wrong in your choices.
Well, I'd say that many days it appears they all have FOs that in their collective heads have no brain cells too...I think I read this on twitter yesterday: Cavs, Indians, and Browns all have head coaches that on their collective heads have a total of zero hairs.
Reporter to Haslam on 12/30: “Can you assure the fans that you don't have the three stooges running this operation?”
Haslam’s response on 12/30:
Banner on the hiring of Pettine on 1/23: “Since Mike Lombardi and I were Moe and Larry, we set out to find Curly, and we succeeded.”
You can’t make this stuff up…

can we see some type of proof of this? I mean I understand who plays should be up to him... but perhaps he played Weeden to piss off the FO for not drafting a QB, or not playing Rainey? All i remember hearing from when he was hired is LOLbardi and Co were in charge of the roster... its how we ended up with 0 hits in the draft...bringing in mcgahee was chud's call. keeping greg little active and josh cooper on the practice squad until davon bess went crazy was chud's call. letting weeden piss away 2 games in a row when the front office wanted hoyer playing from the get go was chud's call. not giving bobby rainey hardly any carries in favor of the aforementioned mcgahee was chud's call. chud did have some leeway in who to bring in and who to cut to some degree. unfortunately for him, he chose poorly when given those chances.
