Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

I mean maybe he needs some therapy to figure out why he is such an idiot, but this isn't like someone addicted to heroin or something, it's just him being a complete moron and neglecting to make decent decisions. Seems like the crew he is around aren't too wise. It's really not that hard but Gordon seems to make it that way.

I think you have it a little wrong. While I do not have much sympathy for people like Gordon it is probably because I came from a good family with a good support system and I did not need to use drugs. Unfortunately for him, he has a serious medical problem and need some serious help before he finds himself in a place where not many people want to be. He probably is not dumb or stupid. He has an illness and needs help!

As someone that has two immediate family members as addicts - I can say you're both right and wrong. There is a lot of denial and lack of responsibility. There is also a chance of mental illness that traditionally manifests itself in young men in their early 20's. This from my experience, could be both. Toss in a couple million dollars and a no fucks given attitude.......

He smokes weed and drinks, neither a big deal. It was a .09, that's only a few beers. I promise you anyone could drive with a .09, but bc he was speeding he was caught.

The kid lacks common sense simple as that. I think everyone is far too quick to think therapy just as people in this world are far too quick to medicate people. I am in the personal belief that he is just a dumb kid who doesn't get it and doesn't see what he is doing. If he would stop and think for 2 seconds it would be fine but he doesn't, showing he simply lacks common sense..

Kicked out of school - supplemental draft. Your employer pays you millions to play a game, facing suspension and then drives drunk (legal limit) while high.

First off, dangerous not only to himself but now others. Considering he likes to speed quite excessively. Second, if you are unable to stop using a substance banned by your employer or illegal, then chances are, he might be an addict.

Yeah he is dumb lol, not the first won't be the last. If drinking and smoking weed when you shouldn't is a huge problem, then 50% of college students need help too lol. I think it's a lot to do with immaturity honestly.

You're equating a professional athlete under threat of suspension by his employer for multiple failures to college kids kicking back on the weekend?!

How fucking hard is it for you to understand that when your boss tells you it's either the weed/actions, otherwise it will cost you a job - then you continue to do it.... Implies someone has a problem.

Edit: either that or Gordon truly doesn't care. In which case,
good riddance.

Yes because people do dumb crap. Same as the college kids who go get drunk as hell on weekdays and do poor in school and get academic probation. Then they don't learn and get kicked out. They get back in and do the same crap again. Doesn't necessarily mean they need professional help as much as it means they are immature and irresponsible. I firmly believe Josh Gordon doesn't care, otherwise he would think more.

Happens all the time and not always because people need professional help. Now if he is an alcoholic or physically addicted to drugs ok, but that doesn't seem to e the case. You have your thoughts on it, I have mine.

When you're facing a year long suspension and continue to be around and do the very things you are getting suspended for, you have an addiction. He definitely needs an intervention and needs to be away from football.

Addicts and alcoholics make bad decisions all the time when it comes to the addiction itself.

FWIW - Chris Carter is in the Hall of Fame
Carter pulled his head out of his ass after Buddy Ryan cut him...in fact he thanked him for doing so during his acceptance speech. It may take something like that for Gordon...who will get as many chances as the league turns their head and allows...to straighten up. At this point, let him spend a year out of football and see if he is willing to take any responsibility for himself like Carter did. If so, more power to him. If not, goodbye.
