Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

I'd like to see Schaub for the sole purpose that it would likely signify we will not be taking Johnny Football at #4, or trading up to get him or any QB.

This. I don't mind having a Veteran on this team that knows Shananigans system, terminology and tendencies. This will be especially helpful during Hoyer's rehab. Lets not kid ourselves, the job is Brian's to lose. I'm just hoping Schaub can come in and bring some stability to the locker room.

Hearing the Browns are targeting Karlos Dansby at linebacker, he is older but is a great MLB in a 3-4. Possibly looking at Arthur Moats as well.

A lot of buzz about Donte still and outside chance we could go after Byrd as well.
The Revis rumors are intriguing but I don't know how you add a safety, extend Haden, and add Revis. That just seems like way too much money.

Dream scenario for me: Dansby and Moats at ILB, two of Whitner/Byrd/Revis in the DB, Tate at RB, Schaub at QB...then draft Watkins at WR with #4 and take either a DB, OL, or Hyde at the end of round 1. Then we might have something if Hoyer gets healthy.

Negative on Tate. I'd just draft Hyde, and let the combo of Obby, Lewis and Baker do their thing. We do need to draft an actual fullback, though.

edit: negative on Revis too. Diminished skills and way overpriced. Prefer too toss those checks at Whitner/Bryd

diminished skills, yes. totally misused by schiano? certainly. when allowed to do what he does best, still a legit #1 cb? probably.

it's all about fit and style. just like tj ward would probably not fit as well under this system since he won't be asked to be a pseudo lb with minimal coverage responsibilities.

I don't understand the need overpaying for a CB when we clearly already have a #1CB. Ultimately I wouldn't complain, I just feel the massive cap room we have can be used elsewhere.

I just read a good article that basically said...
Free Agency is where B-level players are available (because no one lets go of A-level)
and these B-level players/agents demand A-level deals

PS We need more banners in this thread
