Cleveland Browns (2014 Season)

Just because they did shit with the draft picks doesn't mean it was a bad move. I would argue that Gordon is a better WR than Jones, but has a harder time staying on the field. Much like the Buffalo trade this year. Would Watkins have helped the offense this year? Sure, but he seems like a slightly better Hawkins/Gabriel/Benjamin type WR that the Browns didn't need. So far the Bills are winning more games than I would like and Gilbert isn't producing, but I would still take that deal every time it's offered to me.

I wouldn't have gone with either of the tradeups in the first round last year. They seem to be getting almost as much production from UFA's this year than the draft picks. If you throw out the 2nd round pick the UFA's have been better.

Isn't that quite the conundrum. To me that shows our scouting and FO being able to identify solid talent in the later round or UFA. However they clearly have issues with their higher picks.

I'd say hindsight is proving a lot of people on this board correct when they were upset about the trade ups. Most especially the one for Foosball. At first I was happy we picked Gilbert simply
because we didn't take Manziel at 8 It wasn't because I thought he was some elite CB from day one. Then the brakes fell off just a couple hours later.
