I fully expect to hear today that Haslam is firing Banner and Lombardi since they made such a colossal error in their first HC hire, that he needed to be fired after one year, the franchise doesn't need them around another 3 or 4 years.

But I doubt we hear that today. That would require consistency in decision making.

Just when you think they couldn't be any more of a laughingstock, they manage to top themselves. The way this franchise continues to one up itself in stupidity is simply astounding. :lol: I mean, how much patience can it expect? Fifteen years of one colossal failure after another is a bit much. And spare me the "this is a relatively new FO" talk. Clowns fans have heard that how many times now? And now the new one obviously fucked up their first major move, hiring a head coach, on a galactic scale. :slappy:

Chud's quick firing should not scare off any candidates for the job. First, money is the main driver; second, a good coach will believe that he is able to succeed in any situation; and third, candidates will appreciate that the front office is decisive and has a direction, and is unwilling to tolerate mediocrity. The main problem will be convincing the next round of candidates that they won't be "yes men" for Haslam.

If they had a guy in mind and were able to bring him in, then it's one thing.
But firing him ... and then opening it up to the likes of McDaniels is not an improvement on the situation. It's just more reactionary clusterfuck. There is no plan involved here. Just implosion year after year after year.
People don't want to deal with dumpster fire soap opera clusterfucks like this.

As a Browns fan, and I always will be, I am not as upset as most of you guys with regards to the firing of Chud. I think Lombardi and Banner made a big reach when they hired him because they really wanted Chip Kelly and went full retard when he left them in their hotel room. An NFL coach is only as good as the players on the roster so until, If ever, they get a decent QB and fill other positions it really does not matter who is the coach.. No one really knows what happened between Chud and the front office so I will wait and see what happens but I still will never say that I am not a Browns fan any longer.

I might be unhappy with who they select as a coach and I might be unhappy with who they draft and sign as free agents but they still will be my team.

I'm pissed.. at everything and everyone... that has to do with the Browns

and then I read the tweet (and I'm paraphrasing from memory)
Browns have had like 8 coaches since 1999 and no playoffs
Steelers have had 3 coaches since 1969 and 8 Super Bowls
