That deep TD late in the year from Weeden still sticks out in my mind of the potential for scheme busting that Norv can make with Benjamin's speed and Weeden's huge arm, they're a great match for each other.

If we had a 2nd round pick I'd say what until then and I'd expect Banks or Amerson still around but since we don't, it does make Milliner more attractive at 6th.

Dunta Robinson was cut though so maybe he'll be an option for us.

Benjamin has his place in the NFL...his is an Az Hakeem field stretch type. In the proper corps of WRs (and with a QB who can throw it that far :banger:), he can be very dangerous. But by himself or on a team of crappy WRs, not so much. That said, I am certainly not saying we have Holt and Bruce in their prime lying around, but I do like that the building of the WR position as a whole seems to be a priority and we have some pieces. I think they are one piece away from having a really competitive unit. Imagine an established star like Wallace (not saying him, but a guy like him) with Little, Gordon, Benjamin, and a receiving TE type like Watson or Cameron may become...then you would really have something.

I really don't see Watson coming back. Don't know if it will be because he does not want to come back or they will just not want him. I would really like to see the Browns try to sign Myers who played for Oakland last season. I still think Cameron is a season or two away from being a NFL TE.

I think that Gocong, McCoy, and Young get paid for more than they are worth and you might add Mack to that list. Even Rubin is getting paid quite well.
Browns? biggest scheduled 2013 salary cap hits for 2013, including one or two that might surprise you:
1, Joe Thomas, $11.4 million
2, Joe Haden, $9.2 million
3, Ahtyba Rubin, $7.6 million
4, D?Qwell Jackson, $6.4 million
5, Alex Mack, $5.03 million
6, Chris Gocong, $4.8 million
7, Trent Richardson, $4.7 million
8, Colt McCoy, $2.5 million
9, Usama Young, $2.4 million
10, Phil Taylor, $2.2 million
Brandon Weeden isn?t on the list, but the four-year deal he signed last year did call for $7.5 million in guaranteed moolah.
McCoy's number is enough to push him off the roster if the brass doesn't see him as a fit for the new offensive minds.
Joe Banner was part of the Eagles brass that found Gocong expendable and traded him to Cleveland in 2010.

In regards to Colt, I think that the average backup QB salary is around $2M. so he is not that far out of the ballpark. The real question for me is who do you replace him with..sign an vet FA for more, move lewis to 2 and draft a new qb or stick with colt and see if he improves. He is like 4 years younger then Weeden. With the browns under the cap by $30M it is about if colt has any upside, do we bring in vet for Weeden or just take a chance on some one new because Colt sucks.

I think Colt was a good fit for the WCO, but he isn't going to get the ball down the field like Ghud wants. I'd look for them to bring in a big armed backup for Weeden and maybe draft another big armed QB in a later round if one exists.

Props to you for your patience:highfive: Regarding Colt, I guess I agree with exhawg regarding his arm strength. If the new staff feels he can fit in with the new system, I would keep him. Otherwise, I would go out and find a vet and I would not be surprised if they already have one in mind. I would let Lewis walk and maybe draft the QB from Miami. He has a big time arm.

Being a Pro-Bowler does not much. Now if you were All-Pro that would be a different story. I don't know what the average salary of a center is in the NFL but he seems to be making quite a bit of money for a center. There are plenty of guys out there that are pretty capable centers that would be just as capable I think. I know that he is pretty good but it just seems like a lot of money for a center.

I second that idea, Hartline would be a consistent chain mover who can get behind the defense as well. Plus he would be stoked playing for his hometown team
