Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

Since returning to the NFL, the Browns have had seven head coaches, most of whom had little or no head coaching experience prior to being hired by the Browns. The combined record of those seven coaches before being hired by the Browns: 24-27.

But here's an even scarier statistic. The combined record of those seven coaches after being fired by the Browns: 4-15. Of the seven former head coaches, only Romeo Crennel got a second chance in the league.

In other words, the Browns have hired seven guys with no experience, and after their respective stints in Cleveland, each has become an even less viable NFL head coaching candidate. That's pretty tough to do - find seven guys with no market value and make them even less marketable. The Graveyard of Coaches.

It also tells me they're hiring a lot of very inexperienced guys. 51 games is just over three full seasons of prior experience - among SEVEN coaches. They can't even attract a half-decent retread.

No Jay Gruden, no McDaniels. This won't be an epic fuck up unless we hire Chud back.

I wonder why nobody has dropped David Shaw's name?! If there is one coach in college I feel could be successful at the pro level, it's him.

Give me Whiz and call it a day before we do worse. Does not this FO ever get embarrassed… I guess they do not.

Agreed - experienced, offensive mind, still relatively young (51), got AZ to the freaking Super Bowl.....yes, please. His downfall was he never got the pieces in place from the big boys, especially a QB after Warner left. With a good GM in place, he'll be fantastic. Of course, that means we need a good GM in place.
