Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

Texans will go QB...TB, probably not, considering they have Glennon who hasn't been bad and their defense is a [Mark May] show. Would leave us with the 2nd QB.

I think HOU definitely could go QB right away - but I could also see them taking Clowney and taking a QB in the top of the 2nd round, someone like a Tajh Boyd whom they've scouted plenty or any of the other QB's that may fall in a QB heavy draft.

It's a very scary draft though for QB's since there are so many young ones involved; Manziel, Hundley, Bridgewater, etc. all have high ceilings and plenty of ?'s, I don't think there is a sure doubt about any of them.

I guess a few guys think that Campbell could play on the MAC
"Jason Campbell looked like he should be playing quarterback in the Mid-American Conference. His two interceptions were terrible and his check downs obnoxious. There were times it looked like he was skipping stones to Josh Gordon. The Browns' receiver should have had at least double the 67 receiving yards he produced, if Campbell could have put the ball on him."

I would like to know what the hell happened to Ray Horton's attacking defense and our run stuffing defense which has disappeared the past two Sundays in the fourth quarter.I think we might need some new inside linebackers so come on down CJ Mosley.

Our defense appeared pretty gassed by the 4th. Missing Bryant in the rotation doesn't help any.

ILB and CB are still the primary concerns on defense. I don't distinguish that much of a difference between Cousins and
Hoyer - might as well drop that 1st rounder on somebody like Evans from A&M or perhaps that Matthews kid.

Well, if you do not feel that there is much of a difference between Cousins and Hoyer you should be able to live with AJ McCarron because basically they are the same types of players. In the last draft done by Sobo over at the Browns Scout site, he had us taking Watkins with our first pick and CJ Mosley with our second in the first round. He then had us taking Johnny Football with our first pick in the second round. I might not like Johnny as a person but I certainly could live with him as a QB.

I sort of disagree with you regarding Bryant because I think we have enough defensive lineman that missing one player should not in fact the entire defensive line.

Yeah, except that Hoyer and Cousins have been productive in the league - we have one of the two on roster and by keeping it that way we won't waste another first round pick. So... Yeah, there is a difference. I don't mind hanging into Hoyer while we improve the team around him. There just aren't any QB's in this draft that are franchise changers.

Johnny jackass will soon find out that his late delivery with the football is going to cost him because he won't be able to back peddle out of sacks in the league.
Plus, fuck him anyway.

You are right, we do have a solid amount of lineman - but missing Bryant as our best pass rusher hurts in the early going.

That fake fly sweep for huge gains was inexcusable - especially the 2nd time. Fact is, our defensive strength is running right at us. Getting backs on the edge and making our big men move has been damaging.

Edit; I like the Mosley pick - someone DQ can help groom. I'd also like another upper tier CB. Fact is, the pass rush must collectively improve in year 2. Mingo needs to get stronger and Kruger needs to stop overplaying the run on obvious passing downs. The guy is gifted but doesn't attempt to get around the corner at all.

I saw this on the Browns Scout forum as a caption contest as some of the better ones were:
Devon Bess really?
Can you believe there are actual people in this city that think we can draft a franchise quarterback?

Lombardi: Look, if I flex it, you can see it through my shorts.

Banner: WTF Mike?! I have a beard now, Im a real man.

FWIW I forgot to post this yesterday but what the hell happened to Cleveland running the ball. I mean even Baker gained some yards against the 32nd -ranked running defense in the NFL. Also, it was nice to see that option with Marquise Gray for two plays but never to be seen again. Makes me question the game management amongst other things.

Yeah - the lack of run game yesterday and of late has been concerning. Especially yesterday. Baker had a hot hand at times and we didn't feed him more. A kid hungry to prove himself + the leagues worst rushing defense = run the damn ball.

I place that failure on the shoulders of Norv. I get it, you don't have an LT in the backfield, but you have to run the ball more than that.
