Um, if there's one thing he's proven, it's that he's not anything close to a QB. Did you see him this preseason? And how can he "play football"? The only thing resembling success he had in the NFL was with a team that had a very good OL, a strong running game, receivers, and defense. Even then, they were terrible once the league figured out how to defend the gimmick. He's a gimmick, and not a good one at that. You know what, fuck it, bring him in for the lolz.
indy's +/- last year was -30. for them to make the playoffs was a giant statistical anomaly. add to that losing Arians and some injuries and a pretty rough schedule, and they could very well miss the playoffs.
When will these fuckers realize you don't fucking win by drafting QBs onto bad teams?
You build a winner by building the lines and getting a good running game. Look at every single one of the good, young QBs in this league right now.
Matt Ryan had Michael Turner
Phillip Rivers (when he was still good) had LDT
Flacco has Ray Rice
Luck had a good to great year from Vick Ballard
Kaepernick had Frank Gore
Aaron Rodgers had Ryan Grant
Matt Schaub had Arian Foster
Russell Wilson has whatshisface
The only QB in the league going back to 2000 who basically did not have a consistent running back to hand off too as a young QB was Brady, and even then they did the RB by committee thing well for years.
The pattern isn't so much having a "superstar" RB, but a good and consistent running game allows the young QB to establish himself and get used to the league.
Then look at the bad ones.
Gabbert has basically nothing without MJD, and MJD has been hurt most of the time he's been starting.
Josh Freeman has no running game.
Chad Henne basically had no running game in Miami last year unless Reggie Bush was trying to run around the edges
The list goes on. Yet here we are again, repeating the same damn cycle that we have been since 1999. Fuck these guys. I'm still a Browns fan, but I have no reason to pay any attention to them on Sundays now at least until draft day, except to laugh and ridicule.
That's essentially the same set up they had in 2012. Look how that turned out.7 picks pretty much in the top 3 1/2 rounds is a lot of good ammo; Lord knows we have our holes at QB/RB/WR/OG/CB/S......
On the radio Kylie and Booms said the PC last night looked like Chud was in one of those ADT commercials and came home to find all his shit gone, then Banner broke in, scowled at everyone, then ran off because Chud had gotten the system.Does anybody else see Arthur Slugworth from 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' when they look at Banner, or is it just me?

And where the fuck was LOLbardi? You make this kind of move and you are so dickless that the fucking GM doesn't even show up at the PC? Only in Cleveland. Hey Jim Nantz, I got two words for you...
I turned on the radio, and all of a sudden I heard, ‘Cleveland Browns running back has been traded to the Colts.’ It just hit me in my face like I can’t believe … I didn’t see it coming. I had good relations with everybody. I guess it’s the best for the Browns. At the end of the day, it’s the best move for both of us, I guess. I want to be a Brown. I didn’t see it coming
I think we get, like, the 18th pick or so from the Colts. Maybe 16th if we're lucky. That said, this team is a [Mark May] show. What do they have the belongs on an NFL roster? A LT, a reasonable good front 7, and Joe Haden. That's it. You can make a case for:
-Bess as a 3rd/slot WR. I'll buy that.
-Cameron as at least a workable TE. I'll buy that for his receiving, though Shannon Sharpe laughs at his blocking. He couldn't block a legless aardvark. But if we're going all in to make this a passing team, he could be a nice fit.
-Benjamin for a KR/PR. I'll buy that, though at WR he is end of the bench depth.
-Some depth/ST guys like Bademosi, etc. that could step in for a temporary injury but are nothing more than end-of-bench backups.
Gordon doesn't count because he is one test from being banned and the chances of him staying clean mirror Jamarcus Russell's. Mack has regressed to average. Schwartz has gone from promising to turrible. The guards suck. The entire backfield is a joke. The rest of the receivers are practice players. And the entire secondary minus Haden needs to be built from something other than CB4 castoffs.
Anyone thinking next year is going to fix anything might want to hold off...they could use picks to compile even more picks in 2015, because if they don't spend significant FA money there are way too many holes to make a competitive team from one draft.
What a bunch of shitdicks.http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...-trade-browns-colts-radio-125110397--nfl.html
Not really earth shattering news - but according to Richardson, the Browns didn't bother to call him before it went public. He found out through sports talk radio.
I don't buy into regional curses or jinxed franchises. But I do believe that free agents respond to organizations that do-right by their players - on the way in and on the way out.
Richardson deserved better imo.
But look what they did in free agency this past season for the defense. On defense we really need a 2nd CB and some safeties. So that leaves basically the whole offense to overhaul in one offseason. Can it happen? Not really, but we should be able to do enough to be alot better (especially if the defense remains this good)
It will really come down to where we end up in the draft. Do we get the #1/#2 pick? If we end up in the 4-6 range, is there going to be a QB there that this front office is ok drafting. Cuz if the fall in love with only 1 QB... then there goes all those extra picks we just picked up to go get him. BUT, this draft seems like there will be quite a few QBs to pick from. Hopefully there is more than 1 franchise QB out there so we can stand pat and not have to trade up.
Then if that happens that frees up the Indy pick to get the best available talent. Whether it is that 2nd CB, stud WR or maybe a top offensive lineman. Use the rest of the draft to pick OL, WR, RB & DBs. If they also attack offense in free agency you should be able to pick up OL & WR there. Ideally you want Gordon to be the #2 WR so he is not counted on being the #1.
Of course this all goes to hell when all the underclass QBs decide to go back to college and we get they #3 pick and watch the only good QB go #1 and Clowney go #2... tis the Browns destiny.
What a bunch of [Mark May]dicks.
