OB… can play fullback very nicely as proven by that block on that TD run by Lewis. I am pretty confident that they will pick up another backup to Richardson won the roster cuts begin. Hell, they might even pick up a FB but my confidence on that is not very high. Just get me another backup OG and TB and I will be happy.

Injury updates: Mingo still in the hospital and could miss the rest of the pre-season, Lewis likely headed to IR or cut, Pinkston will likely miss at least a couple of weeks during the regular season so Gilkey will have to start (here is where Gordon getting suspended really sucks more even), and David Nelson could be back soon (which would be good given that Gordon is out the first 2 weeks).

Chud still not ready to name Weeden the starter :slappy:

I read on CBSports that Mingo will miss just a week or so and Lewis may be on IR for half the season (short term IR, not sure exactly what it's called).

Mingo should be back and 100% for the opener which is all that matters. Will be interesting to see what RB's become available later in camp.

I was somewhat surprised that another WR, besides Gordon, did not get more playing time with Weeden in the first half last night since Gordon will miss the first two games of the season. I know that next week the starters will play a little bit longer so maybe then Chud will give Benjamin or some other WR some PT when their starters are playing.

Isn't Bess being counted on?

I think Nelson (if he can get healthy) might get some of the 2nd WR reps as well. I would guess they'll keep Bess in his 3rd WR roll and Benjamin as the 4th WR. Probably end up with a mix of those 3 guys along with Little for those first 2 games.

Browns signed running back out of Youngstown State. I would not get too excited.

BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns on Sunday re-signed free agent Jamaine Cook, the club announced. In addition, the team waived defensive back Kenronte Walker.

Cook, a 5-9, 210-pound running back is in his rookie season out of Youngstown State, originally signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent on April 30. He was waived May 21.

Cook finished second in Youngstown State history with 4,052 career rushing yards, while adding 39 touchdowns on 811 attempts. He totaled more than 1,200 rushing yards and at least 11 rushing scores in each of his three seasons as a starter.

A native of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, he graduated from Midpark High School.

Well, at least he is not camp fodder:wink: but he has been known to pee in very public places.

BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns traded for Seahawks guard John Moffitt, sending defensive lineman Brian Sanford to Seattle on Monday.

The Browns' offensive line has been decimated by injuries with guards Shawn Lauvao and Jason Pinkston both going down with high ankle sprains during the preseason.

"We continue to look each day of the year for any opportunity to improve our roster," Browns CEO Joe Banner said in a release by the club. "We're committed to a building a team that can consistently compete in this league."

Moffitt, 6-4, 319 pounds, was a third-round pick of the Seahawks out of Wisconsin in 2011 and has started 15 games in his career. He started four games at right guard and two at left guard during Seattle's playoff run last year.

"John's a tough and versatile lineman who will be in the mix for us upfront," Browns head caoch Rob Chudzinski said in the release.

Sanford spent parts of three seasons with the Browns, recording five tackles in six games.

Another Seattle Seahawks player has run afoul of the law, but this time, it has nothing to do with PEDs. Offensive guard John Moffitt missed the team's OTA practice on Tuesday because he had a court date in the Seattle suburb of Bellevue to answer for charges of trespassing and obstruction of justice. However, the details of the incidents get a bit weirder than one might assume from those relatively generic charges.

i like the pickup...seems like the past few regimes in this situation would of just sat around and hoped to catch lightning in a bottle with someone off the practice squad

I agree. They traded a fringe player at a position of depth for a guy that will end up likely being a starter for the first few games if not the whole season. Better than a rookie from a school I've never heard of.
