sprained ankle, no surgery needed, return time unknown right now.

The way he got rolled it has to be a high ankle sprain, which usually takes a month or 2 to get back from.

My one complaint about last night is why get Lewis so many reps? If you want him to be a big part of your offense his night should have been over at halftime with Jackson and the camp fodder getting the rest of the game. Once the season starts Richardson will likely get 60-80% of the RB reps so why run your 3rd down scat back into the ground in the preseason?

Weeden - Good. QB controversy? Really?
Richardson - Good enough for the first preseason game of his career
Cameron - Best game yet (has the potential to be impossible to single cover with a LB or S)
Gordon & Little - Good
Benjamin - Not going to get a lot of punts to return this year, which will be great for field position. Is it just me or is he averaging taking every other punt for a TD for his career? :p
Starting Front 7 - Good at stopping the run and bringing some heat. I have a feeling we won't really see what these guys can do until the season starts and Horton really lets them loose.
Injuries - Horrible. Can we please just get to the season already?

The Browns now have 3 receiving threats that can beat single coverage and a back in Richardson that you have to respect on the dump off. Throw in Bess and Benjamin and you have a group of receivers that are going to require the defense to cover the whole field unlike previous seasons. Probably not saying much, but IMO Weeden has the best arm of any Browns QB since the new team.

Agree with basically everything here.

It still seems like they are about a year away, even with the secondary issues, but I think they'll ruin someone's season this year. It's not an automatic win this year when you're playing the Browns.

And you know what, if they get lucky a few times, catch a team or two sleeping and Baltimore's offense is as bad as it looked last night all year long, they could make a run at .500 and .500 in the AFC will probably mean being in contention for a playoff berth.

BTW Weeden went 8 for 12 with 117 yards (9.8 avg) and 2 TDs. He was 2-3 completions of over 10 yards away from having a perfect QBR

And that 1 incompletion over 10 yards, was nearly a completion down the browns sideline (I can't remember who almost caught the ball)

Which [censored]ed them when they got exposed by Aaron Rogers, a pretty good Oline
And the quick passing game of the Packers.

I agree, the front seven should be the priority - but to completely ignore the secondary (essentially what the front office did) is insanity.

I think ignore is a strong word. There isn't a rush to fill every gap this season and spend all of our FA dollars. The Browns can and will be patient in the secondary based on their philosophy. We aren't a Super Bowl contender and we did a bang up job addressing the front 7 this off-season.

I expect they'll assess the safeties this year and make a move next off-season. Going into this free agency market and draft I was hoping they'd address it. After listening and reading about Horton's philosophy it makes sense.

I think that was the main reason they didn't spend any big money on the offense this year. They want to see what they have on the roster with Turners offense and then address it next year. If Weeden and Cameron can play the whole season like they did last night you don't need to spend big money or high picks on those positions, which many people were calling for this spring.

I like the approach they are taking with this team so far.

I hardly think picking up a late round Stoneburner qualifies as "big money" for a TE position.

That said: This team has promise. All of our home games are possible wins. Maybe the Ravens offense and run stopping really does regress?

The Weeden to Gordon connection looked awesome last night.

I have this feeling we actually go 2-0 against the Steelers this year. That alone will be cause for a SuperBowl-like celebration.

Either way, the team is heading in the right direction. At this point we need to maintain the foundation we have, stay healthy - and add some quality players in next years draft and FA.

I haven't seen Owens play at #2CB to really make an assessment about his strengths. Moving foward, OG, FS, ILB and TE will be our big priorities.

Pluto on the injuries. Doesn't sound good for Pinkston, but it's too early to tell. Lewis is gone, which is a shame.

I was encouraged by Owens last night, I still think he's a #3, but he appears to at least have some instincts.

Detroit sucks at football, but their front 4 on defense is frightening. Fairley had a great night, he read screens well and seemed to be all over the place. Stafford=if I don't have the best player on the planet out there to bail me out, I suck. Seriously he looked like Mark Sanchez out there last night. Bush will get a shitload of touches in their offense, because the options are Johnson single covered, Johnson double covered, Johnson triple covered, Pettigrew if wide open, and then nobody.

I think most of us were calling for Stoney and Boren in the late rounds. Stoney is probably a slightly smaller Cameron with even less blocking.
