Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

A Wide Receiver who can catch the ball would be great too.

What did they end up with last year? 40 drops? 50? I understand those will happen from time to time but how many TDs were dropped?

This. Colt may make some mistakes, but he can also make some plays. When he did make plays this past year, he couldn't get a pick me up from his WR's/TE's/RB's

I read that all NFL teams who are over the salary cap in 2013 will have to get rid of 90% of their cap space. If that is indeed true why don't the Browns sign some semi-decent players this season so that they can put a semi-decent team on the field in 2012:huh:

Sign Flynn and Hillis and trade the number 4 pick. Hopefully get Wright with the 22nd pick and pickup some O Line help
I think Flynn would be a good fit in Cleveland. With Philbin in Miami now, they're likely to go after him pretty hard. But I don't know if I'd give up on Colt just yet.

Colt isn't the problem. He is a perfect WCO QB.

Sarcasm? Colt is undersized, has below average arm strength and very questionable accuracy. The guy is a competitor and I like him but more as a backup QB. This team has to find a franchise QB at some point. I don't know enough to know if RG3 is that but if Holmgren & Co. believe he is then I'm fine with them taking a shot.

Sure seems like a vertical threat to me.

However a vertical threat in the Larry Fitzgerald sense. He's very explosive off the line. Big & physical with great body control. Not a burner, but will win the jump ball battle.

He's also a pretty solid blocker from the looks of that footage.

And that "weak big 12 corner" he was owning was Prince Amukamara

According to the CBA
Section 9. Minimum Team Cash Spending:
(a) For each of the following four-League Year periods, 201 3-201 6 and
2017-2020, there shall be a guaranteed Minimum Team Cash Spending of 89% of the
Salary Caps for such periods (e.g., if the Salary Caps for the 2013-1 6 and 201 7-2020 are
$1 00, 120, 1 30, and 1 50 million, respectively, each Club shall have a Minimum Team
Cash Spending for that period of $445 million (89% of $500 million))

The Browns are projected to be $20-25 million under a projected cap of $120-125 Million. So they would be at 80-84% of the cap next year without any big signing. They aren't too far off the min and the calculations don't start until 2013. They have the cap room to sign players, they need players, there a lot of projected WR FA this year (a big need), but they don't have to yet.

The Bengals are the team that really will be interesting to watch, as they are $40+ Million under the cap (<70% of the cap).

Forgot to add: The punishment for going under the Min. for the 4 year period is to pay the players the difference. So if the Browns spend $440 instead of $445 Million they have to split that $5 million between all the players that played for the browns in that 4 year period.

Best case scenario IMO. Really starting to doubt Floyd will be there at 22 though.

I completely doubt that Floyd will be there at 22. That's why I would like the Browns to move down to get Richardson and then use what they got to trade down to trade up for Floyd. If they could turn 4 and 22 into 6 and 18 they might have a shot.

Looks like Don Banks is still down with the 'tardness.

That just about describes that entire mock draft.
