I can't find the article now, but I read an interview with Haslam where he said something to the effect that he didn't believe in a revolving door in the FO and the coaching staff and he wanted stability with the organization like the Steelers have.
I don't know how big the Eagles connection is between Banner and guys with the Browns since they seem pretty tight with Andy Reid and Banner reportedly isn't. I've never heard anything about the connection between Banner and Haslam so I don't know how they got together, but I guess we'll see after the season. I like many of the things that Heckert has done, but I don't think it would be the worst thing to start from scratch with the coaching staff on up.
It doesn't sound like Banner is really a replacement for Holmgren anyway since Haslam will take on a lot of the decision making that Holmgren did.
