Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

Your team is imploding, so you're switching to a team that's in a perpetual state of implosion?

Let's be fair, implosion implies the team was somewhere of substance. I don't think the Browns are in the process of imploding. They have imploded, past tense as in we are already there. He merely wants to root for the team that has already arrived.

On a side note, the Seahawks have named Russell Wilson their starter, so at least we can be glad we didn't sign Matt Flynn...

3 years at $26 million to be a backup again

He has a sore elbow in Seattle, if he'd signed in Cleveland he would have torn his rotator cuff AND needed Tommy John surgery.

Yeah, but only $10 million guaranteed.

The financial situation in Seattle won't be nearly as bad as people are making it out to be.

Yeah, they were smart enough to only guarantee a fraction of that money. Seems very prescient now, being that he was beaten out for the job by a 3rd round midget. And, hell, when you're paying your starter 3rd round money, $10M for his backup isn't that big of a hit.

There's a lot of people that don't seem very prescient right about now.

Paging Mel Kiper...

After watching some of the Bengals running game last night, Hardesty, with the exception of Boom, doesn't look too bad.
I almost want to apologize to Bengals fans for making this post because Hardesty is an embarrassment to the Browns uniform. I would almost rather see Jackson play until Richardson is ready. There is no excuse for fumbling twice in 2 exhibition games. I would play him against the Bears and if he fumbled again I would release him but they probably are afraid to do that since Haslam is a big fan of Hardesty coming from Tennessee.

Also, speaking of Richardson who I really did like when he was healthy at Alabama, I am starting to question why the Browns drafted him if they knew that he had a bad knee or that his knee was going to require surgery. I know that they needed a running back but I do not think I would have drafted up for a guy who had a bad knee. They could have waited and drafted someone in a lower round. I hope Richardson proves me wrong but knowing the Browns draft makes me wonder.

I don't know if Richardson really has a bad knee. He had a scope before the combine and just had a little cleanup work that they missed in the scope a few weeks ago. If they found it during the season they would have held off on the surgery until the season was over. He should be back at 100% by week 1 or 2. If he starts getting injured and re-injured I'll worry.

Hardesty really just needs to focus on holding onto the ball. If he fumbles a couple times during the season I'm sure they will evaluate his role on the team like they did for the long snapper last year. Talent wise Hardesty is the second best RB on the team so I'm sure they'll work with him a little before they cut him lose. Hopefully sitting out practice yesterday was enough to get him to focus on holding onto the ball better. Hillis was a beast, but remember how many fumbles he had a couple years ago?

You might want to rethink that. Not only does the team blow donkeys from top (owner) to bottom (water boy), they actually hate their fans.

Haslem was in the DP that game, wonder if that had anything to do with it.

And honestly this is hilarious considering the stories you hear on a Monday, ANY Monday, on any radio station in NE Ohio, after a Browns game. Some fan behavior is so bad it borders on (or crosses over into) criminal, not to mention disgusting...but yeah, let's toss the people out standing. That will do it.

I find that link very hard to believe. There was more to that story than that guy is telling. Perhaps he should have stayed in his designated section. He is lucky that the cops came because they probably saved his ass.

Haslam left the DP after the second quarter because he was interviewed at halftime or at the beginning of the third quarter.
