Little was a WR going into UNC. Was placed at RB due to emergency from injuries and sent back to WR after that season and still produced. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Browns signed Chris Ogbonnaya from Houston's practice squad. Well they found one gem on that damn thing before (Foster)...

Further indication's Hillis could be gone soon?


Something tells me I'm going to be very pissed off, very soon.

they waived armond smith and got ogbonnaya because he is bigger and more physical...this means the browns are somewhat concerned about hillis's hamstring for this weekends game

I was thinking with Hillis it might be a better deal for the Browns just to franchise him for the next couple years if they think that is all he has in the tank. When he is on he is worth the top RB money, but I'd hate to be paying him that kind of money 3-5 years down the line, which is what his agent probably wants. Pay him a little more the next couple years and then let him walk when his skills start to go downhill. If he wants a longer contract I would give him a 5 year deal worth what the franchise tag would cost over the next 3 years.

I think that would be a generous amount of money considering the (expected) longevity of Hillis' career. Plus I think it would keep him happy. Again this doesn't have to be an offense that alienates its running backs. Especially a "power" back like Peyton. He's still the best pass catching option we have out of the backfield - we need to get him consecutive carries. None of this - pass first down... 2 yards on 2nd down and incomplete on 3rd down bullshit. That was something Daboll did for some time.

Run on first down. Get 3-4 yards. Stay ahead of the sticks. Don't put too much on McCoy. Lets make it a RB centered offense again. Hopefully that will allow us
to get the ball to our TE's and Little. Then give it to Hillis late in the game to run the ball on a tired defense.


Of course all of these concepts are far to simple and effective for the Browns to actually implement.

Word has it Hillis is out again, and looking more and more like a one year wonder. Sitting out per his agent's direction earlier in the season spoke volumes.

The Browns are doing the wise thing and waiting until after the season to look at his contract situation. Bruising backs don't tend to have the longest careers, anyway.
