Well... RGIII could show up in the combine, measure in at 6 feet and 3/4 of an inch... and we can take him in round 3.

Seriously, Dez Bryant gets brought up but we're talking about a guy that lied to the NCAA, got kicked out of a mall, is accused of owing $600k to a jeweler, another $50k on bank loans, and was just involved in fight in South Beach (with Lil Wayne's crew? possibly over debts?).3074326;2092184; said:Are there concerns with Blackmon's character? He seems like a pretty good dude based on what I've seen.

its not the same league, its not the same ball park...its not even the same fucking sport

and more importantly, he is the best WR to come through the draft since those 3.
BuckeyeMyk;2092397; said:Based on...? It's not as if Fitz or Megatron played any better compitition in the ACC or the Big East, and it just so happens that Blackmon's numbers in college are better than both of their numbers. Fitz and Megatron had their fair share of naysayers, and it's easy looking back and saying they were clearly elite receivers, but at the time there were people saying about them the same things you're saying about Blackmon. If your argument isn't numbers or competition, then maybe it's intuition or the eye test? In which case I would say, did you see the kid's sport science institute clip? He's 6'1" and still has a vert good enough to have the vertical reach of plaxico burress? Yep, don't think there are many defensive backs that are tall enough or have the vert to guard against him on a jump ball.
At the end of the day he belongs in the same conversation as Fitz and Johnson did coming out of college, and whether or not he lives up to that status he's earned will be up to him. Fitz was a number 3 overall pick and Johnson was a number 2, and honestly Blackmon could go either one of those spots, and that's before you account for the fact there's this supposed once in a generation QB in Andrew Luck getting drafted that pushes Blackmon back a spot or two.
*Do not take this out of context in saying that Blackmon is a lock to be as good as Fitz (one of the best/hardest working receivers to ever step on a field) or Megatron who is a freak. Understand I'm talking belonging in the conversation based on their body of work and athletic ability up to this point in their careers*
**Edit: Forgot to add in Andre Johnson to the convo. Again very similar numbers and competition in the ACC, and his draft spot, 3rd overall, is once again fairly comparable. **
