Cleveland Browns (2011 season)

Good grief.

Look at all the players the Browns could have drafted over the last 10 years and how they fucked themselves.

The latest for me is Suh. Could have had him and then fucked around and won the last 4 games of the season or something.

Rooting for this team is just no fun at all.

It's too depressing to even think about.

A 5-11, 6-10 team. It's getting tougher to have faith that this team is actually going anywhere.
Getting tougher? I gave up in 2008. But don't worry, they'll keep up their December tradition of winning a couple meaningless games to [censored] up their draft position. This franchise can't even suck properly.

As for Jefferies, yeah...WR NEEDS to be a priority next draft. Little may end up being pretty good, but MoM is a 3rd receiver at best, and the rest is just detritus. Cribbs is great to have around for his versitility, but if you're counting on him being more than a 4th WR, you're in trouble. No idea what happend to Robo, but he doesn't look like anything more than a fringe guy at best.

RB is a looming problem too. Hillis doesn't seem happy and he isn't a longterm answer anyway. I like very little that I've seen of Hardesty.

Is there any interest here in Eddie Royal? Keep in mind he was a playmaker under Shanahan. The broncos never really have utilized him, since Cutler was traded. He's 25,but injury prone. He can't be valued for much on the market.

I honestly don't see any point in going after him, and I'd imagine the FO feels the same. He's not all that good really. He had one good year and that was the product of the system they had in Denver. Plus injury prone + Cleveland = disaster. They aren't competing for shit this year, so making any kind of trades would be like putting lipstick on a pig.

Think he tweaked a hamstring.

Watching the local news tonight...they're not really buying it. And Cribbs came out and basically said the coaching sucks (in code) and says he wants to play exclusively on ST. This team is imploding.

They should trademark that. Happens every year. :!

I'm not sure if I do either, what with all the chatter around that game he sat out for strep throat.

Yeah, I for one am tired of the coaches erasing every double-digit gain on offense with penalties. It seems the Browns lose a coach every year to a motorcycle accident or some other dumb shit. Fire them all... again. :roll2:

And yes, Cribbs should be focusing on special teams. He is a replacement-level WR, but he is a game changer both returning and covering kicks. It may not be glamorous, but it's what got him paid. Maybe he's starting to realize that in a roundabout way.

To come out of a bye and to play that way was embarrassing...i think if hillis would of played more then 8 snaps then we would of won...also with 2 first round picks next year we will be taking a QB with our first pick guaranteed...holmgren cant be happy with McCoys progression...i think hes regressed...he doesnt have the arm strength to make it playing in cleveland in november and december...he needs a larry fitzgerald or calvin johnson to get any better because his deep balls are usually short or hang in the air so long that its constantly a jump ball...i was hoping this year we could finally solidify some spots in certain areas but i would never think that we may need to draft another QB and RB next year

I would be disappointed if they spend a first round pick on a QB. McCoy is having the best year so far among the skill position players on offense. The completion percentage has dipped, but his QB rating is up a tick and he's on pace for about 25 TDs and 9 INTs, which would be a tremendous accomplishment for a QB that has no weapons around him whatsoever.

so, that would make him slightly better than brady quinn.

mccoy is one of the chief reasons the offense is struggling. he has yet to throw deep with any consistency. he doesn't throw intermediate routes at all, and just checks down, which lets defenses overload the box and take away the run game.

all the 3 yard dump offs while down by 2 scores in the world won't pad his stats enough to make him a viable long term qb unless he starts improving in other areas.
