Cleveland Browns (2011 season)

Cribbs left practice with an apparent knee injury. Don't know the severity yet, but it doesn't sound that bad.

CLEVELAND -- Browns receiver Josh Cribbs suffered a left knee or leg injury in practice this morning when a defensive back came down on his leg in one-on-one drills. He sat out the rest of the practice and wore an ice bag on the knee for some of it.

He might miss some practice, but should be okay for the first preseason game Aug. 13.

Browns acquired offensive lineman John Greco from the Rams for an undisclosed 2012 draft choice. - Adam Schefter

not too bad IMO

conditional 7th round pick depending on how many games he starts. so, it's basically a free pick-up as he will likely back up steinbach and lavauo/yates.

Think we will go after a veteran WR in FA now? Although it looks like Cribbs and Massaqoui will only be out for a short time, Carlton Mitchell has been added to the injury parade. Watson sat out today too. Not a WR and apparently just a minor concussion but one less target available for Colt.

Yikes, Little and Robiskie are the starters now. Though I am extremely excited for Little's potential, it has been over a year since he's suited up to play football. And jury is still out on Robiskie.

I know injuries happen and none of these appear to be terribly serious, but the string of injuries shows how weak we really are at this spot. Well I guess most Browns fans (myself included) wanted the Browns to sign a FA WR from the start but the Browns FO was sending mixed messages about adding one.

I thought the new scale mandated 4 years with a team option for a 5th. I thought it also worked out where every team had a set $ amount to spend on rooks, that they could divide up any way they wanted. Well, if they have signed all their other picks, where exactly is the wiggle room here???
I think you are correct about the money but it is the number of guaranteed years that is holding up the signing of Taylor. it has to do with picks 17 through 24 because one of them signed a guaranteed four-year contract.

The only player signed in that eight-man stretch is the first first-rounder to sign: Bucs defensive end Adrian Clayborn, the 20th overall pick. Clayborn?s deal, negotiated by up-and-comer Blake Baratz, overshot the pick-by-pick formula not only for the 20th slot, but also for the 19th slot, occupied by Amukamara. That wrinkle could be keeping Amukamara?s deal from getting done.

The bigger issue is the extent to which the teams are willing to fully guarantee the four-year deals. Clayborn?s at No. 20 is fully guaranteed. The contract signed by Seahawks offensive lineman James Carpenter at No. 25 is guaranteed only for the first three years. For picks No. 21 through No. 24, the fight centers on whether three or four years will be guaranteed.

Depends on what you mean by a veteran. A guy expected to play during the season? No. A guy like Bobby Engram was who will play in camp and pre-season games and then get cut? Likely.

Brodrick Bunkley - DL - Browns
Brodrick Bunkley has yet to report to Browns training camp and "no one knows if he ever will."

Bunkley was shipped from Philly to Cleveland on Saturday, a move he couldn't have been pleased with. The Browns remain on the hook for the 2012 fifth-rounder they sent to the Eagles even if Bunkley doesn't show because NFL trades are made "at your own risk." The Browns clearly didn't do enough digging into the player.

I think he will eventually show unless he wants to deliver papers for a living.
