Cleveland Browns (2011 season)

cleveland needs a legit #1 WR, not a guy like Dane.

I'm aware - however if we're just looking for 'help' at WR (or the FO doesn't have full confidence in Mo or Robo) then it wouldn't have hurt to take a longer look at him. Regardless, its the past now... I shouldn't have brought it up.

Question still stand on Fitz though.

Do you have a link to the Clemons article??

Would be a great get for a team in desperate need of DE help. 11 sacks last year.
It is a post by a Browns fan at the link provided in post #446 above. I can't speak for the validity of the poster but Clemons does fit the size that Heckert likes for his DEs plus he was purchasing kitchen appliances in Cleveland:)

If the Cleamons thing is true, that's a good pickup...

As for Fitzgerald, this team isn't going to throw a pile of money at WR when there are so many holes for two reasons: #1 tying up an enormous cap figure on a WR isn't generally a good idea for rebuilding teams and #2, they seem (for one reason or another) to like the guys they have.

Heard on the radio that Bush would be a good fit in Cleveland, and as much as I'm NOT a fan of Reggie.. I think it would be a good fit. He could give Hillis a breather & you could stick him out wide as a reciever when needed. Thoughts?

EDIT: My bad, jumped the gun.. saw the posts on page 30

It was discussed on the last page. I'd pass. They're hoping Hardesty is the change-of-pace guy. All Bush is is a below average rb and return guy. You already have Cribbs on returns and you don't need to tie a bunch of money up on a below average rb who's gonna give you 3.5 ypc if you're lucky.

This is true. I'd just like to have that "oh shit" WR on the field for a young Colt to work with. Oh well...

Justin Blackmon next year will suffice

If MoM or Robo don't show signs of being legit guys this season, I suspect WR will become a priority next year. This is a make-or-break season for them.

I am no fan of Bush...at all...I mean not even a little...

But, given how much Colt likes to dump to RBs, imagine if that was Bush instead of Hillis catching 40 of those. There's been a lot of talk of using a 2 TB offense this year in sets, and Bush would be a good speed around end/pass catching guy, which Hardesty isn't.

Just food for thought, it won't happen anyway.

I agree in theory, but he'd cost waaaay to much $$ because of his return abilities, which they don't need.

The QB from Hillsdale is probably Holmgren's project for the future and probably will mean bye-bye to Jake.
God, I hope so. Add him to the Garcia/Dilfer scrap heap.

Delhomme costs 5.4 million...if they don't cut him, they should clean out the front office right now.

Would love to see Eugene Clifford and Nick Claytor taken as Undrafted FA's. Have these guys been picked up by anyone yet?

Claytor still has a ton of potential but was hurt by having to play in an option offense when Paul Johnson was hired at Ga Tech. Great feet and frame though.

Eugene Clifford is a great prospect at safety. Tore up the lower divisions after his issues at Ohio State.
