Cleveland Browns (2011 season)

I don't understand how you can lump the new regime in with the old regimes, when all the new group has done has given reason for optimism.

They drafted three starters last year. And at least two of them look like above average/potential pro-bowl players.

Can't let that kind of thing stand in the way of a good tirade.

I don't want to upset my guy Yoyoin, but I think our GM in the BP mock draft is off to a better start than Heckert.

Thank you!

As far as the second round I wouldn't mind getting Bowers/Reed/The DE from Pitt with the first pick and if another stud DE/DT dropped to the 27th 2nd round pick I would take one there too.

I don't want Hankerson, he doesn't fit the Heckertt WR mold anyway. I think we get Young, Little, Cobb or Jerringan if we go WR with the 2nd pick today.

Another thought, Would someone take our 2nd for their 2nd and 3rd? If that is possible I would take that to get some more numbers.

Don't good tirades have to make just a little bit of sense?

Clearly the good draft picks by the new regime last year (that everyone bitched about) don't erase the last 30 years of frustration before that they had less than nothing to do with.

I wouldn't mind a deal that gets them back in the 3rd round - for the right price. They have and extra 4th rounder and an extra sixth rounder plus some future picks to play with as well.

Won't lie. I was drunk when I got home. When I saw Big Cam come on the screen for the Pittspuke pick I just yelled "No!!" about a dozen times. Pretty sure everyone at the bar was looking at me. Oh well.

I'm not huge on the Taylor pick. Mountain of a man. But like said earlier, I guess the idea is towards what Minnesota does. I expect that means we'll be addressing DE, OT and WR next?

With all that beef in the middle, what are the chances we go for a 4-3 rush end? Smaller size you could say. Kinda like how we could have drafted Thaddeus last year. Hell, where's Big Vern right now? I'd like to see him just have his hand in the dirt and try to kill a QB.

So we have 2 picks. Wonder if we could bundle something and grab a 3rd?

Perhaps Hankerson, Bowers, Nevis, an OT... ?? A RB? a CB?

heck, at this point trading back further wouldn't be a bad call. Cuz really, after Bowers, the only guys I like are DTs. So if we aren't going to pick Bowers, or if he is gone already. Trade down some more! It's Friday night... need another reason to get pissed drunk! :drunks:

I think a DL of Bowers, Rubin, Taylor, and Roth would be a lot better than the Browns have had in the past. I would love to see them invite Quinn Pitcock to camp and add a couple more DL in FA. Gholston would probably be a good get at end since his value has bottomed out and he would be a better fit in the 4-3.
I know this has nothing to do with the draft but Roth is not very happy in Cleveland and is unrestricted so he probably will be gone. I would substitute Bernard in his position and from everything that I have read Heckert likes guys Bernard's size (a.k.a. Trent Cole) to play DE.

Also, for the record, I wanted Julio Jones very bad and if people read my posts pre-draft they will know that however H. & H. know a lot more about football than me so I have to believe that they have some master plan when it comes to drafting Taylor and giving up their third-round pick. They must see some guys that they think are going to be available in the fourth round and beyond that will help the Browns.

Grossi was just on Bruce Drennan's show and thinks the browns will go DE, WR, CB in the 2nd round...thinks we will not look at Austin since we are so thin at DE spot...also said there is a good chance we do not take bowers...Dick Jauron likes big DE's and Heckert likes thinner and lighter DE's...find out soon enough
