In HS, Haden = 4.46 hand-timed.
It doesn't match his draft hype, but I'm not sure it's that far off for an electronic field-turf time.

That's the problem and I admit it gives me pause too. Their numbers were eerily similar in college and they both feasted on weaker Pac-10 defenses. I think he could turn out to be a solid short yardage option as a pro, but personally, if the Browns look to go RB, I'd prefer Spiller because of his HR ability and elusiveness.jlb1705;1667447; said:

Davis looked good in preseason against the Lions. I don't put much stock in that. I'd prefer to address other needs too, but, if they were to pick Spiller, I don't think I'd be too upset. The kid is just electric and we really don't have a premier back. If we're going to a WC offense, his receiving ability would be an asset too.BuckNut65;1667496; said:

With so many picks this year, there's a lot more "wiggle room" with that top pick. Sure you want to address those biggest needs, but with a fairly deep draft, if you feel you can plug some of them later on taking a guy like Spiller wouldn't be all that bad IMO.

I've also done more reading on Vardell (I was a youngster when he was drafted) and his similarities to Gerhart are creepy. Even their measurables are practically the same - Vardell was actually .04 faster in the 40 than Gerhart. I honestly don't know much about Vardell's running style in college, but having seen Gerhart, I just get the feeling that he can be a poor man's Beanie Wells. Most importantly while we're comparing and contrasting, nobody would be talking about using a top-10 pick in Gerhart like was used to take Vardell. The chatter I'm seeing is that Gerhart's combine performance MAY have moved him into a 2nd round position. Despite the creepy similarities, I think he might be worth a look on Day 2 this year.

Jacksonville is @ 10
Miami @ 12
Seattle and NYG @ 14, 15 respectively.
I"m not sure which teams would show the top interest, but I"m sure we could secure an extra pick with the trade down.
I'm curious because if we do so, I think the likelyhood of taking Spiller increases. We then take Earl Thomas with our pick @ 41 ( if he's available)
