They Browns aren't going to contend for anything next year, so I'd rather see them try to develop some younger RBs instead of signing a 30+ year old RB.

I'm also a little skeptical of Peppers. He's going want a ton of money, and from what I saw of him last year he was very underwhelming. Sure, he can dominate, but he's pretty inconsistent.

I'd imagine he'll stick with a 4-3 team as a DE anyways, more money that way than as an OLB.
I'd say he's more "lazy" than "inconsistent"..."inconsistent" implies he actually is trying. When he decides to actually show up and play, he's probably the most dominant defensive player in the league. That just doesn't happen nearly enough. Been the knock on him for a couple years now. The last thing you need on a rebuilding (still?) team is a lazy shithead collecting a big paycheck.

True.

I'd like to see them go after Antrel Rolle, but he's going to want a pretty good chunk of cash. But I think he's worth it. Young and a good player in the secondary.

If he's available for a reasonable price, I'd be okay with that. I'd love to see them go after Myron Rolle in the draft. He's getting a mid-round grade right now and that could be a real value. Smart kid, strong character. How often do you get the chance to have a Rhodes Scholar on your roster?

You never know that in the NFL these days. Is it likely though, no.

We just need to add pieces that are going to be good players for us for a long time. I don't wanna see us spending big money on free agents (Peppers or Thomas Jones) this offseason.

I agree with NFBuck about getting smart, hardworking kids. People really undervalue brains, of course I mean football brains and instincts. I like how Mangini approaches his selection of players.

I'd be willing to bet every dollar in my bank account that the Browns aren't going to contend for anything next year. The Ravens, Steelers and Bengals are all stronger. And that's just the division. This is a year of getting the team's shit together.

Jones would give next year's rushing offense a boost if he stays healthy, but it's just not worth it because he isn't a long-term solution. Pick up a guy in the draft (or a young guy in free agency, Lendale White will be available :sick1:).

Lendale Whizzite would be the biggest and only FA acquisition of certain previous regimes...there'd be TV conferences, commericals, and maybe a campaign...like "Move over William Green...LenDale is up in hizz hayase!"

Hopefully, this is not one of those previous regimes...
