if he gets suspended for more than 2 games I'll be shocked. he's milking training camp and the preseason, he'll be healthy to suit up week 1.

Yeah it's more health than suspension, there was talk in the CPD this morning about him possibly being on the PUP list to start the season, which would put him out at least 6 weeks. Basically no one seems to know just how hurt he actually still is.

OBR has been constantly reporting about how he's been working on his own, and is in great shape, and having no real problems, and that they were just nursing him along.

We'll see in about 2 weeks when they have to make final roster moves.

Yeah, NFL.com had an article this morning about the PUP issue with him too...we'll see. All we can do is hope for the best.

This is still all conjecture though.

It's worse than conjecture. It's based on a report by Tony Grossi.

Regardless of one's actual opinion of McCoy, spending a 3rd rounder on him only to cut him at the end of his first camp would be a debacle on the same scale as all their wasted first round picks over the years.

Its def not on the table thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard when it comes to the Browns.... and thats saying alot
It's not just dumb in regards to the Browns, it's dumb in regards to the NFL, period. Teams don't invest third round picks in a position like qb and then cut them after their first training camp. It's a developmental position. I've always known Grossi was a complete fucking moron, but this is profound mental retardation-level "journalism".

he has looked pretty bad in is limited amount of playing time. It's between him and the veteran QB that Mangini used to have with the Jets. Maybe if he can play special teams that will help him. I think it is very much up in the air right now.

Where do you come up with this stuff?

It would be really fucking stupid to cut a guy everyone says they knew wasn't going to play this year. McCoy has looked like dogshit in the preseason, but does anyone think Ratliff is a QB of the future? If not, Holmgren will bitchslap Mangini into the stone age if he even thinks about suggesting keeping Ratliff and cutting McCoy.

EDIT: That said, I saw an article this morning that says the battle between the 2 of them for a roster spot will come down to the last preseason game against the Bears. I can't imagine there being a hair of truth about it, but this is Cleveland...
