If RB's are a "dime a dozen", the Browns need to spend some dimes if we want to get a really good running back. I think Vickers is more important to the Browns then Harrison and it will be interesting to see just how much playing time Harrison sees this season because I think the Browns might go with a more power offense with Hardesty and the rather big boys.

I think Harrison will get traded for a draft pick. Mangini likes big power backs. With Hardesty, Hillis, Davis and Jennings we have power. Harison is also a free agent after this season. I'd rather keep Davis or Jennings than Harrison.

This was written back at the end of May but the guy on this site does not even have Davis making the roster. He has Harrison to, but like you, 5 games does not make a season and so he and Davis both might be history.

I actually think they'll keep Harrison and see if they can get a good year out of him. I think Davis will have a really tough time sticking.

Its a shame too, I know it was only pre-season but I would still really like to see Davis get some type of spot duty to at least give us a glimpse of what his potential might be.

If there is one thing about the Browns management that I do know is that they like big offensive lineman. Maybe if it is just a training camp.

OBR

The Browns today signed OG Paul Fanaika, according to Adam Caplan of Scout.com. Fanaika was a seventh-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009, when Browns GM Tom Heckert was helping to run those selections. Fanaika also spent time with the Redskins organization, and was cut on Monday. Fanaika is a big guard, at 6-5 and over 330 pounds.

More from above link which I found to be interesting. I find it interesting that all the Browns sites are talking about Hardesty and that they think she will be an impact player this year.

IMPACT NEWCOMERS: Based strictly on what was seen over the last four weeks and not meant to jump to conclusions...

1. Hardesty -- It's clear that he's going to have a chance to win a role (if not the starting job) and make an immediate impact. Impressed Mangini with his classroom work, and his college resume that he's ready for the field, too. The most intriguing guy in a crowded backfield.

2. Chris Gocong -- He's playing 3-4 outside linebacker for the first time in his career, but he has the size and smarts Mangini loves. He seemed to be catching on to the coverage aspect, and the team hopes he'll help in getting to the quarterback as well.

3. Carlton Mitchell -- Sixth-round receiver out of South Florida made some impressive plays -- mostly against the third-team defense, but he made plays. He has a nice size-speed combo and doesn't exactly have Jerry Rice in front of him as he pushes for early playing time.

GET TO KNOW: Five guys you probably don't know a lot about but look to have a real shot to make the roster coming out of the spring work...

Chris Chancellor, undrafted rookie CB out of Clemson; Brian Schaefering, a well-traveled but still young defensive lineman who played well at the end of last year; second-year linebacker Marcus Benard (ditto Schaefering; he also benefited this spring from Roth's absence), undrafted rookie WR Johnathan Haggerty of Southwestern Oklahoma; and Bubba Ventrone, an undersized safety and special-teams destroyer.

Now the Browns have 2 gun toting defensive ends:shake: Pretty soon they will not have a defensive line with all the suspensions which probably will be coming.

? Cleveland Browns defensive end Robaire Smith has been charged with carrying a gun in his luggage at Bishop Airport in Flint, Mich.
Genesee County officials on Thursday charged the 32-year-old Flint resident with possession of a firearm in a sterile area of a commercial airport.

The misdemeanor carries a maximum sentence of a year in jail.
The case is similar to that of fellow Browns lineman Shaun Rogers, who was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon through security at Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport on April 1.

No link, but I saw that the Browns signed Bobby Engram. I assume he will be a preseason WR mentor for the younger guys, which might not be a bad thing as long as he doesn't take PT away.

They make him to play a little

Here is the team's press release
The Cleveland Browns today signed free agent wide receiver Bobby Engram, the team announced.

Originally selected by Chicago in the second round (52nd overall) of the 1996 draft, Engram has started 113 of the 176 games in which he has appeared during his 14-year NFL career. He has registered 650 career receptions for 7,751 receiving yards and 35 touchdowns. Engram has seen action with Chicago (1996-2000), Seattle (2001-08) and Kansas City (2009), with his most productive season coming in 2007, when he recorded 94 receptions for 1,147 yards and six scores.

A four-year letterman at Penn State University (1991, 1993-95), Engram started 33 of 45 games, recording 167 receptions for a school-record 3,026 yards and 31 touchdowns during his collegiate career. Born on January 7, 1973, the 5-10, 192-pound

The acquisition gives the Browns an experienced hand at the wide receiver position, who would be most likely to spell Chansi Stuckey in the slot if he is able to make the roster. Holmgren may be looking at Engram as a potential mentor

This is how I think the team meetings go:

Mangini: What can we do to troll the fans some more?

Boss: I dont know, how about sign a WR that is 87 years old and couldnt even get PT over Deon Branch?

Mangini: Genius, its so funny, its right on the boderline of insane and it will be funny just to see how much more the fans will take and keep coming back.

Boss: Its only logical, we really need a #1 or someone to stretch the field, so lets get a WR that cant run 10 feet and laugh at the reaction.

Well, so long as they didn't draft that loser Clausen, I'm ok with it

If anyone can tell me they are happy with how things are going I would be glad to hear how any of this is different than the same old Browns. I am not the rhabuf guy, if your happy about not getting Clausen thats fine, I am not going to keep getting into it about him. So far these moves dont make any sense.

I'll tell you why it's not the SOS...the old Browns would have signed TO, just like they did Andre Rison.
