Haden has certainly slid down the board from where he started plus I haven't heard much about our gun toting NT/DE. I would think the Browns would want to know what his status is going to be before the draft.

they might want to know such, but I doubt they can use the draft as a reason to expedite the legal process. worst case scenario would probably be a 4 game suspension. but there is talk of as little as a 1 game suspension.

as for the draft itself, at the end of the day, it's not far fetched to see berry on the board at 7. it's just too tough for teams with high value positional needs to take a safety over say a LT.

What I find interesting regarding the SI mock is the remark that Bulaga may be dropping so there might be a chance that if Berry is taken that might mean Bulaga might be there at #7.

I actually like Bulaga as a RT for the Browns, but is #7 too high to pick a RT? Just thinking out loud on this one.

I don't think it is if you're already set for the next decade at LT.

My preference if Berry is already gone is to explore trade-down options to collect more picks in a reportedly deep draft. There may not be an acceptable deal to be made though - and I imagine that a lot of teams might be hesitant to give up picks to improve their position when they feel there is good value throughout the draft. I'd be fine with taking Bulaga in that instance that Berry is gone and no decent trade is available.

I agree. Heckert and Mangini both like to build the OL and DL. I'd take in order though Berry then Clausen or trade down and get Odrick or Thomas or an OL. I'm not sure what teams if any are looking to move up at this stage. Alot depends on the 1st six picks. If Clausen is available at #7 that might entice a team to move up (Buffalo, Jacksonville, Oakland) to select the QB.

I'll be shocked if Closet Clausen is taken in the top 10. No one is going to trade up to 7 to get him unless the Browns gave them a sweetheart deal.

Williams would also be a nice pick if Berry has gone. I don't know who is rated higher Williams or Bulaga. I guess it depends upon what Mac you look at and maybe who can also play guard. But as you mentioned, these guys should really be considered if Berry is gone:(
