Really..You just quoted that because I added the letter "s"..Wow,your life must be exciting. Congrats on that.

No I quoted it because it was a worthless point. I corrected your spelling so people would know what I was responding too.

Hopefully, your internet acceptance is fulfilled. Wallace is shit..Will be shit at the end of this year, and cleveland will be looking for the newest replacement for the shit role.
And he'll still be better than Quinn.

Go pump some roids or something. :roll2:

and here, just in case you forgot what it is...

My post is worthless..However,your comment leads me to believe that receivers make no difference in the NFL? Really? Cleveland picked up a guy that has 3-4 years left as a pro who's proved nothing over his entire career as a backup.5'11 guys not named Dree Brees tend not to fair so well in the NFL. If Wallace was anything, but worthless..He would have been elsewhere years ago.

After next season you will chime in with your normal.."I told you so" type post, which usually consists of bashing someone, then asking a larger group for your acceptance..Your daily routine must be fascinating.

Unless its 3rd and (very)short, where is Hillis going to contribute? We have a great blocking/pass catching FB in Vickers last I checked.

Vickers is great? Check again.

It's amazing how simply you look at the NFL. :slappy:

No, I'll chime in with my "powerlifter has let the roids go to his brain" type post, just like you've done here.

If I use a lot of emoticons, can I then ask forum members for acceptance or do I have to have over 14,000 posts saying the same thing?

Seattle also had a better receiving corp..Quinn will fit in mcdaniels system, and could possibly develop into a much better quarterback...How much development can Wallace really make? He's been in the league twice as long as Quinn and hasn't accomplished much of anything. I guess time will tell. I'll be anxious to see what Wallace can do,but definitely have my doubts.

Yes, Seattle had better WR's last year but it's not like they were great. Burleson and Houshmanzadeh are pretty much average. Also you have to take into account that Seattle's O-line was terrible while Cleveland's was pretty solid.

A better comparison may be to look back at 2008 in which Seattle was decimated by WR injuries. Wallace started 8 games that year and put up very solid numbers.

One way to look at the trades is that Cleveland got Seneca Wallace, Peyton Hillis and a 2012 pick for Quinn with the 2011 picks offsetting each other.

so if the Browns do have their sights set on a QB in this year's draft, who should it be?

Clausen? Bradford? McCoy? Or maybe a darkhorse like Lefevour?

I can't see going paticularly high on a QB. Defense will take the top priority - by then Bradford and Clausen will be gone. Last I heard Lefevour was getting questions about his arm strength and was showing some accuracy problems (again, brief coverage I saw about him)

If McCoy is available towards the latter part of the 2nd early 3rd, I wouldn't have too much of an issue with that I guess.

Maybe great wasn't the proper word. He struggled bad in 07 - but, for as little attention as I pay to such an under-used position, he's
been pretty good. Which is about all you need from the fullback. Its a no-glory type road in today's NFL and not a game-breaking position.
So, checking again - yeah, Vickers looks just fine from what I've seen.

Besides, I have his Madden stats to back it up...

I don't know if McCoy is going to last that long. I've seen a lot of talk about the Rams using the first pick of the second round to take McCoy if they go with one of the DTs in the first. I would like to have McCoy in Cleveland. I don't care to much for any of the other names being tossed around. The Browns have been collecting picks and will be in a position to trade into the right spot to get their guy though, whoever it might be.

FWIW, I haven't noticed Vickers since Maurice Carthon got canned.

I would say I've lost some faith in Holmgren, but I'll wait and see how everything fits together. I'm not disappointed at all we got rid of Seargent Bigfoot Overthrow or Corporal Noodledick Dumpoff, but I'm not exactly inspired by Wallace, and I think Delhomme is the worst QB in the NFL right now, so I ain't real happy with that. Hillis is a "versatile" player, but we already have several of those (Cribbs, Wallace, Harrison) so I'm not sure we needed another one. The one I can't really figure out is Wimbley...he actually looked like he made some pregress for the first time since his rookie year, and it seems a shame to dump a guy that has fianlly made strides for the next David Veikune. Of course Holmgren would tell me he won't draft another Veikune, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I dunno, these moves were to be expected, I guess, since he was reshaping the club in the image of what he wants to do and the loss of the CBA. He did pay to keep Cribbs and keep the fans happy keeping Cribbs, so he definitely is in tune with the need to sell tickets. I guess we'll have to see. The ironic thing is that everyone acts like Holmgren is a QB guru, but the fact to me is that the one thing that might have prevented Seattle from winning the SB or making another was...shaky QB play. Go figure.

Brady Quinn's short tenure in Cleveland just another QB failure for Browns - Don Banks - SI.com

Quinn's short tenure in Cleveland just another QB failure for Browns

And so the Brady Quinn era ends with a whimper in Cleveland, roughly the same way it did for Derek Anderson, Charlie Frye, Trent Dilfer, Jeff Garcia, Kelly Holcomb and Tim Couch before him. There was much promise and fanfare upon arrival, but only an air of failure and disappointment as he made his exit.
As trends go, I cannot fathom a bigger dead-end job in the NFL than playing quarterback for the Browns over the past 10 years or so. No quarterback ever leaves Cleveland with their reputation burnished and their future looking bright. They depart as damaged goods, and just hope -- over time -- to put a few of the pieces back together.

Most of the article is spot-on, but the notion the the Browns ruined so many promising careers is absurd. I mean, look at that list - no broken down old men or steaming turds in the bunch! :roll1: We're talking about bad quarterbacks here - part of the responsibility falls on them for being bad, and the rest on the Browns for giving them jobs.

I guess people still feel the need to think that Brady Quinn is going to turn out decent. There's likely a reason that 2/3 of the NFL passed on him before the Browns tripped over themselves to bring him into the fold. I wonder how long it took before people allowed themselves to realize that Rick Mirer wasn't going to be worth a damn in the NFL - I can't remember.
