Cleveland Browns (2010 season)

The only consistant thing about Anderson was his inconsistancy. Didn't cheer when he went down, but his exit from the Browns wasn't very classy on his part either. The Browns should have dumped him that first year, they at least would have gotten something of better value.

I'm not saying Anderson didn't have a tough go of it. When your best target is Stonehands, and you trade away the only other target that could catch in Winslow (Problems aside, he was a playmaker compared to what we've been left with), you're going to have a hard time moving the ball. This guy can't complain that he didn't get a fair shake though, he had a bunch of 2nd chances in Cleveland.

Best of luck to him, all this aside. Maybe a team will take a chance on him and we'll get some pleasure out of some easy picks :)

It's the fans fault that DA sucked. Sure. I can buy that.

And it's just like a whiny puke to get behind another whiny puke when his feelings get hurt for losing his job because he sucks at it. Get over it DA.

Anyone else not over it yet can get the fuck out too. Take it like a man DA and shut your trap. Overpaid whiny little bitch.

Right, because that's what he said :roll1:

I don't disagree with his assessment. Any fanbase that is classless enough to celebrate their own injuries doesn't deserve a winning team.

Should he have mouthed off? Maybe not, but I'm not sure what he owes the fans that constantly whine about him when things don't go well and then lecture him on manning up when things don't go well.

Again, I agree. But to generalize a whole fanbase because of a group of drunken fans in the 500 level who cheered, and others joined in when they saw Quinn going in, not because of DA getting hurt, is wrong.
Tim Couch laughs at the notion that this is an outlier.

Ohio State fans have done some stupid stuff too jwins
And there are times I feel the same way there... especially when backup QBs get booed off the field during spring games.

Or a more recent example: there were far too many idiots in the stands (and certain free boards) calling for Pryor to be benched for Bauserman or Guiton or moved to WR altogether. Sometimes I wish they'd get their delusional wish for the rest of the year. Of course I wouldn't want to do that to the players, staff & other fans, but it's easy to feel that way.
easy on the broad generalizations.....
Is it an unfair characterization of the way QBs are treated in Cleveland? I realize not everyone feels or acts that way, but it seems to be a disturbing pattern at this point.

Browns shopping Quinn:

Browns shopping Brady Quinn | ProFootballTalk.com

Cleveland Browns front office boss Mike Holmgren has already made changes at the quarterback position, and he's not done yet.

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Browns have offered quarterback Brady Quinn in trade talks with other teams.

It's been apparent for some time that it doesn't look good for Quinn in Cleveland. The Browns have traded for Seneca Wallace, who thinks he's going to start, and they've had discussions about signing, trading for or drafting another quarterback. All of which suggests that they don't view Quinn as the long-term answer.

Holmgren has said he thinks Quinn needs a full year as an NFL starter before his long-term prospects can be adequately evaluated. But it's looking less and less likely that Quinn will get that full year as a starter in Cleveland

You're going to get assholes no matter where you go. I've been to games in Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Cleveland and saw really ridiculous behavior from fans at all three venues. I've seen it in Iowa, the Shoe, East Lansing. The point is you are going to get drunk assholes at sporting events. To paint an entire fan base with that brush just isn't fair. It isn't accurate either.

The point is that Cleveland fans are no different than any other fans (save Philly. Those people are out there.). They are passionate and they are STARVED for a winner. They had the team taken away by Art Modell, brought back and now have to look on as seemingly every other team gets to the play offs or Super Bowls while the Browns field 4-12 teams. Christ the old Browns (the Ravens) won a Super Bowl. That was our goddamn team!!!!!

Looking like they may draft a QB in April which surprises me. I thought that Holmgren would want a look at Brady running the show.

If they draft Jimmy Clausen I'll hang myself!

It's not like the treatment is better a lot of other places...ask Romo, McNabb, Eli Manning, Sanchez, or Cutler how things are with the fans...

A friend of mine who is a Steeler fan thought the Browns booing of DA was classless. I reminded him of the Steelers booing Bradshaw when he seperated his shoulder in the early 1970's. It goes with the territory.
