It was awesome that the fans pissed on him after one game from Kelly Holcomb. Nevermind he led the team to a 9-7 record and a wild card berth the year before.

It won't be long until the fans cheer a Brady Quinn injury for Seneca Wallace. It's pathetic and unbecoming of the standard to which (I hope) most Browns fans hold themselves.

I'll agree, it is pretty sad. Anderson's comments hold some truth - Browns fans are in fact very ruthless. Helluva homefield advantage when your own offense is worried about taking the field.

Couch's Oline did him no favors though - holy hell we're they bad.

Anderson probably shouldn't have went about that the way he did, but I don't blame him for being pissed. The booing is pretty classless. I actually wish the guy luck. Aside from being an awful QB most of the time, I liked him.

Fans didn't give DA enough time, yet everyone is ready to turn on Quinn already. Sheesh.

Take your 14 million and go cry in the corner. Do you expect to retain your job when you are the worst at what you do? How many here would expect that?

Don't think he was complaining about being cut. If anything, it sounds like he was glad to leave.

They still shouldn't have cheered his injury though. That's the kind of shit Penn State fans do.

Didn't give him enough time? He had 2008 and a fair portion of last year. He sucked ass. Plain and simple. He ran up numbers on a weak schedule with no pressure on him in 2007. Well, until the pressure of a playoff berth was there...then he tanked. Pressure was on him in 2008 and he blew it. He had more than enough time. He's just not a good QB. Put him on a team with no expectations and he might put up some numbers again.

I agree. I'm saying that there are some that feel that way. Maybe not here on this forum, but many others I've seen. And supposed "analysts" (Dilfer, Hoge)

Again, I agree. But to generalize a whole fanbase because of a group of drunken fans in the 500 level who cheered, and others joined in when they saw Quinn going in, not because of DA getting hurt, is wrong.

I'm not sad he's gone. But I don't blame him for being [censored]ed off about the cheering. I've been saying that the biggest problem with the Browns is the impatience of the fans. If management had time and could look five years down the road with a plan without fans bitching about it, we could be a contender in five years.

This isn't the first time Browns fans did that to a quarterback. Its as low class as you can get. If I had been there for that game, I'm not sure I would have been able to keep my mouth shut if some idiot standing next to me were cheering. I think we'd come to blows (with me getting the worst of it of course)

The impatience of the fans? I think we have a right to be impatient. The way that the NFL sets up you have teams that go 2-14 one year and then win the fucking Super Bowl the next year. The Saints just won the Super Bowl. The fucking SAINTS! The Browns can't play .500 football. It's the front office it's not the fans.

The Browns can't get out of their own way year after year. Don't indict a whole fan base because some idiotic/drunk fans hurt your feelings, Anderson. Christ Almighty if you were even decent they would have built a statue of you in downtown Cleveland. You were terrible when it counted. TERRIBLE.

Browns fans fill that stadium year in and year out. If any fan base deserves a winner it's the Browns. Look at what Browns fans have been through over the past 20 years.

That last comment from Derek Anderson about how he hopes "we play them and we roll them" is laughable. He couldn't hit water if he was throwing off of a fucking beach.

Which is ironic considering the Browns play on the shores of Lake Erie...

Fuck DA. He'll be out of the league in 2 years.2 FOR 17?! are you fucking joking me? You're making all that money to go out there and throw a fucking ball 17 times and only TWICE does it end up in your own teams hands? Sounds to me he didn't care, so why should the Browns fans?

And as someone already mentioned, the majority of those cheers when he got injured were moreso for Quinn going in than Anderson being injured...but whatever the baby wants to believe. It's the NFL buddy, it ain't all peaches n cream.

NFL stands for NOT FOR LONG if you're gonna be a bitch like that.

/endrant.

He does have a point about Browns' fans. Have any of you been to the Watercooler on Scout? Those fucking idiots rip a guy if he isn't 100% perfect the first time, label him, and then make excuses if he does well in a game. I'm no Quinn lover, but if you defend him over there you are a "fan boi". And they do not let the lack of any solid information slow them down in forming an opinion. They were practically unanimous in predicting Matt Ryan would be a bust. And they are never happy with whatever pick the front office makes in a draft.

Fucking pathetic.

I agree, booing an injured player is classless.

That said, I hope Bigfoot does come back here as a starter...we need one of those patented 6-for-27 games to build some confidence in our secondary.

DA should just bite his lip and move on. Let's face it, he just got fired. Many of us on this board have been fired. It doesn't feel good to get kicked in the nuts. It also happens everyday in corporate America. He's made $ 14M guaranteed with this contract. He will probably get another $ 2-4M on his next back up gig. Not bad for a below average QB. Keep your mouth shut DA and move on.

The handful of Browns fans who were booing that day are tools. I'm not condoning what they did but DA should realize this goes with the territory. He will never have to work another day in his life once his playing days are over. I'll sign up for the booing any day to be in his position.

Sincerely,

Fired too....

Agree 1,000%

Browns fans have been pathetic since '99. I don't blame them with what happened. But the edge that the move gave the general fanbase has not been good.
