Cleveland Browns (2010 season)

I would Take Quinn, Dareus or Green. Whoever Heckert rates the highest. It would be hard to pass up on an impact DL. In round 2 I would go for a WR (Baldwin, Hankerson etc). I am back to the DL in round 3. This of course is dependent on a labor agreement and who we sign as FA. A J Hawk would sure look good coming back to Ohio!!!

I don't want baldwin at all. Hankerson maybe. I would rather have a smaller quicker WRs. We already have 2 big slow WRs why do we need another?

I agree, we don't need more possession receivers, and Mitchell is raw but has speed, so if we get anyone we need a difference maker. Taking another 2nd or 3rd round WR doesn't seem like it buys us much when we have so many other pressing needs...like about 6 DL and someone who isn't the worst RT over the last half century.

If you want to compare Miller, think of a far more athletic version of Chip Banks. Most are not old enough to remember him.
Reminds me of Galen Fiss ask your dad:wink:

I am considering him and the DT from the other OSU Pea (sp) as my second round choice for the BP mock draft.
I would stay defense in the second round. There are quite a few free-agent WRs that out there.

THIS

After Jones & Green, no other WR really moves me. Plus, do the Browns really need to pick ANOTHER 2nd round WR?

Plus our DL is so void of talent going DL with the 1st & 2nd round isn't a bad idea. If our 1st two picks end up being Robert Quinn & Marvin Austin I wouldn't mind that. Or insert any other combo of DE/DT in the 1st/2nd round.

if titus young somehow drops to the 2nd i could see the browns grabbing him

I think we need at least 3 Defensive picks in the first 4 or 5 rounds...if we can get a WR great, if not go all defense...line, or else a DB is we can get a good one in the middle rounds, but mostly DL.

While I don't mind that, probably not best to get too young too fast. If we go DL in first two rounds, you sign a couple of vets to go with them .

There is just too many holes to oversaturate one position in the draft. We'll need to draft a OL, WR, LB & CB too.

I agree, but free agents can be signed (or guys like Roth and Benard can be moved) to play a year or two until the draft picks are ready to start full time...plus with DL rotations these days you need at least 2 good players per DL position anyway. I would never turn down 2 stud DL...if we had a shitty OL, I wouldn't turn down two bookend tackles either. I agree diversification is good, but if we can get 2 great DL, I'm all for it.

Mike Holmgren nearly hired himself to coach the Browns

Before and after Browns president Mike Holmgren fired coach Eric Mangini, the Big Show had been dropping big hints about the possibility that the best man for the job could be the man deciding who will fill it. In the end, Holmgren hired Pat Shurmur.
But Holmgren tells Dave ?Softy? Mahler of KJR in Seattle that the former Packers and Seahawks coach ran the idea of coaching the Browns past his staff ? and his staff agreed. In the end, Holmgren decided against it after talking to his wife and ?pray[ing] about it a little bit.?
The full audio is available at the KJR website.
Though it?s unclear whether he?ll ever coach again, the fact that Shurmur has no offensive coordinator and will be calling the plays bolsters our belief that Holmgren will have a large wooden spoon in the stew ? something that Shurmur surely knew when he agreed to take the job.
Given Holmgren?s accomplishments, Shurmur surely isn?t complaining, either.
