Was against this at first, but Watt's combine has made me not give a damn if we take him at 6.

6'5" 290 lbs.

40-4.84
Bench-34
Vertical- 37
Broad-10'
Shuttle-4.21
Cone-6.88

Freak.

the shuttle and cone drills were better than or close to just guys as akeem ayers, donte moch, leonard hankerson, and aj green. the bench reps were tops for DE's.

Football player > combine freak

Before or during the course of the season, did anyone watch JJ and say : "Yep, 1st round pick I think"....

I know I didn't. However my opinion doesn't matter. Maybe I need to dig up his combine performance and more film and watch myself.
Because I would be very upset about him as of right now.

Edit: Especially with Watt appearing to be more suited as a 5-technique kinda guy.

I was thinking about linebackers. Mason Foster from Washington anyone? He was a tackling machine and at one point the leading tackler in the Pac-10 late last year.

The thing is Watt is a football player who has had a lot of production. No one expected this combine from him. He is not a "combine freak."

I looked at him as a helluva football player but I wasnt sure if he was athletic enough to transfer it to the pro level.

Now it is easy to see he has had on field production + insane measurables.

I'm with you, I might be starting to convert. Of course I want a bigger name at number 6, but if we take Watt at number 6 I wouldn't totally be upset, im just concerned about where we take him. If we take him at 18, I'll jump out of the roof

There was another defensive lineman at Wiscy that we made look good just like Watt and his draft status shot through the roof and he is no where to be found....his nome isnt coming to me but Watt is a second round guy imho

are you talking about Erasmus James, who was picked 18th overall by minnesota, had a very good rookie season, then missed 2 full years due to several injuries and never got healthy again?

if so, poor example.

In the BP mock draft, the Browns GM took Von Miller with the sixth pick:)

I'm the idiot that did that. Unfortunatly the first five picks were

  1. 8 am - Panthers - Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn
  2. 10 am - Broncos - Daquan Bowers, DE, Clemson
  3. 12 pm - Bills - Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama
  4. 2 pm - Bengals -AJ Green, WR, Georgia
  5. 4 pm - Cardinals - Patrick Peterson, DB, Louisiana State University
My big board was

Bowers
Peterson
Dareus
Fairly
Miller
Green

I don't know what the Browns would do if the first five picks unfolded like that. Someone is going to go full retard and pick Newton or something so I don't think that will happen. I am guessing the Browns would probably have take Quinn, but Miller is much more interesting to me.

Do you think Miller would work in a 4-3?
