Cleveland Browns (2008 Season)

Actually my response had nothing to do with the Bengals or any other NFL team other than you stated that your team did not allow such people on the team. As you have finally admitted your team does and has had criminals on their roster so that part of the debate it over.

The last part that I bold faced is funny though. we will just make sure we hang onto that for future use.

That quote started nothing; it was your reaction that did. You took my statement as a reflection on the Bengals, the sooner you realize that you have have mistaken whom that commented was directed at is when this debate will be over.

I'll say one last time; this team is not perfect, but since our current front office has been in administration and within the past several years, our franchise has had a very solid reputation for not turning out mass felons and/or criminals. Due several of them have a history? - that's a resounding YES. Have many of our players and star athletes kept a high standard? - YES. Is it possible we'll still have an issue sooner or later? - Yep Will this organization tolerate and more importantly leave unpunished this type of unnacceptable behavior? - Hell NO.

Am I getting through to you at all man??

*Blink* I've been saying the Browns organization as a whole hasnt been spotless this whole time... As previously said though, if I committed such an act several years prior, does that make me a "criminal"?

Yeah, please hang onto that quote; and should another Browns player get busted and tagged with a felony offense, it will only make me look that much smarter when he's promptly removed from the roster.

So we done here? - because I'm I would really like to get back to our 4th, 5th and 6th round draft picks - unless we have something further to discuss?

I wonder how far Jack Ikegwounu slips due to his knee injury. He could be a steal if he lasts until the 4th round.

Trae Williams (USF) seems a bit underrated on most mock draft boards. If he's available, I think he could make an impact.

I also like Brian Toal at LB as someone who may last late into the draft.

I'd just like to come clean and point out that I was arrested for disorderly conduct and underage drinking as a freshman at OSU. Better to get it out there now before the arrest records of the fans gets dragged into this. Thank you for your time.

I would like to come clean and admit that I may have been drunk before in my life maybe, once.

Once again, I am not saying that any team is better here, but here is just a jist of players who were arrested "under your colors"

Reuben Droughns, fresh off a not-guilty verdict in a DUI trial, spent a night in jail last month after the Cleveland Browns running back was arrested for allegedly throwing his wife out the door (literally).

Mike Mason, 22, has been in police custody since his arrest late Saturday night.

The wide receiver pleaded not guilty to aggravated disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstructing official business, all misdemeanors.

Bodden was arrested outside Cleveland Hopkins Airport today and charged with aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest

Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Gerard Warren pleaded guilty to a gun charge Friday, five months after he was arrested while attending a party thrown by Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress.

Browns fullback Mike Sellers was charged Tuesday felony cocaine possession after being arrested along with teammate Lamar Chapman, who was charged with felony drug abuse, following a Monday night traffic stop in Cleveland.

Want me to keep going?

Besides going back who knows how many goddamn years, yes please keep going. Let us know when you hit the number that equals the Bengals over the past 3 years and let us know how many years back in Browns history you have to go to do it.

And while you are researching, please be more thorough in your research. One that you have mentioned more than once is a little inaccurate:

Cleveland Browns cornerback Leigh Bodden relieved upon being cleared of charges

Plain Dealer Reporter
Browns cornerback Leigh Bodden went out on Thursday afternoon to celebrate his daughter Bayleigh's fourth birthday, and for the first time in five months didn't feel like people were pointing at him and whispering.
A tremendous weight had been lifted off his shoulders the day before, when he was cleared of all charges stemming from his arrest at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on Sept. 5 when he went to pick up his girlfriend, Anjeli Lenoir, and their two children, Bayleigh and 2-month-old son Leigh.

Browns offense solid, but some areas need help
Wednesday, April 9, 2008
BY Steve Doerschuk
REPOSITORY SPORTS WRITER

Browns General Manager Phil Savage caught the big fish he needed in last year's draft.

Joe Thomas blew Browns fans out of the water, elevating the offense as much as any rookie in 40 years.

Running back Jim Brown made that kind of splash in 1957. Without him in 1956, Cleveland averaged 13.9 points a game. With Brown in '57, the average soared to 22.4.

The 2006 Browns averaged 14.9 points. With Thomas earning a Pro Bowl spot as a rookie left tackle, the number leaped to 25.1.

Now what?

The Browns don't have a pick until the fourth round later this month. They figure to spend that Round 4 pick ? and likely their fifth-rounder ? on defensive help.

Dispatch

The Cleveland Browns do not have picks in the first three rounds of the NFL draft as a result of trades for quarterback Brady Quinn and defensive tackles Corey Williams and Shaun Rogers. But Cleveland general manager Phil Savage said at the NFL meetings last week that he doesn't envision a scenario in which the team will try to move into the early rounds.
Savage also revealed how Dallas had targeted Derek Anderson before the Browns signed the quarterback a three-year, $24 million deal. The Cowboys reportedly were looking to sign Anderson, which would have cost their first- and third-round picks, then trade him to Miami as part of a package for the No. 1 overall pick. Dallas presumably would have drafted Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.

Browns defense can't expect much help in draft
Friday, April 11, 2008
BY Steve Doerschuk
REPOSITORY SPORTS WRITER

Romeo Crennel will have too much time on his hands April 26, the first day of the NFL Draft. What will Cleveland's head coach do?

"Probably eat too much," he said.

Any help from the second day of the draft ? the Browns don't have a pick until No. 122 overall ? shapes up as a light snack. Whereas the Browns' offense seems poised for a healthy diet of 2008 points and doesn't need serious draft help, the defense could have used it.

Here is a look at where offseason moves have left the team heading into the draft and spring minicamps.
