Cleveland Browns (2007 & prior)

When the Browns drafted Braylon, I wasn't excited. I wasn't excited because I saw him drop too many balls in college that hit him in the hands. Easy catches. Yes, I also saw him make some great catches in college, but as a pro, a WR job is to catch the ball, especially when it hits your hands.

I was hoping that the Browns would have traded that #3 pick and used it to bolster the o-line. It all comes back to the o-line. Young and Rice in their primes would not be going to Super Bowls behind that Browns line and I never thought Braylon was in the Rice category.....

Braylon isn't in John Taylor's league either....

im not talking about him dropping passes, im talking about the chemistry that a quarterback and wide receiver have. jerry rice and steve young come to mind. wide receiver is a very sensitive position (lots of busts) and changing quarterbacks isnt a good way to help someone develop.

he didn't have a legit shot at either of the passes, trust me. you criticize his attitude yet completely ignore how he busted his ass to recover from his knee injury. id say thats pretty biased of you. id much rather have him than cedric benson, a power back.

the bottom line is that you all are chomping at the bit to find anything wrong with him because he went to UM. if he went to tOSU there'd be every excuse made for him. he was the right pick.

for a bedtime thought - imagine this - QB Brady Quinn to WR Braylon Edwards TD:biggrin:

Still grasping for straws I see. Rather than facing the music about Braylon's dropsies you'd like to skirt the issue and claim we're all just biased against him. It doesn't change the facts, though. He's got an attitude problem and he's got a problem dropping the ball.

so coming back from injury quickly to get back on the field for your team is self centered? ha ha
So is TO suddenly a team oriented guy b/c he rehabbed fast for the super bowl?

TO has had far more issues than Braylon, but both have been abrasive towards fellow players and coaches.

How hard they worked to rescue their own bodies (enabling them to earn money) doesn't nullify how they've acted as a teammate, no matter how badly you want it to.

romeo went out of his way to quinns pro day because he likes to waste time.....riiiiiigggght
Why wouldn't a coach attend an ND pro day, especially if he's within driving distance? Is Quinn the only irish NFL prospect over the next few years?

I also find it strange that you give hints as to Romeo/Savage's intentions, given the shell game that is the NFL draft.

Like Jwins pointed out -- why wouldn't he be at their pro day?
It would only be news to me if he wasn't there. And then I'd have to wonder if he's being negligent.

How much interest did the Browns show in Akili Smith?

I'm just sayin'...

I'm not sure how much interest Akili Smith got... but Oregon isn't exactly Notre Dame, even if they have won a bowl game more recently  There were also many "great QBs" in that draft. (of the 4, only McNabb is a real success) Just sayin'.

My only point was that the fact that a team SHOWS interest in a player does not necessarily mean they HAVE interest. I wasn't trying to compare Oregon to Notre Dame. That's not really a fair comparison until ND figures out how to win a bowl game.
