Cleveland Browns (2007 & prior)

remember the first steelers game this year? thats what braylon can do.

And what was the score of that game again?? Better yet, Pittsburgh was having all sorts of issues with their secondary at that point in time. Given that he surrounded that game with 29 and 31 yard games respectively, that's more of an abberation than a norm.

he was very good at UM too.

I don't care. If you truly have to point to what he did in college going on 3 years ago, that should say a LOT about the player in question.

he hurt his knee his rookie year, came back quickly from it, and has been through three different QBs (none of which are good) on a team with terrible pass protection. his drops aside, hes done a really good job.

id rather have him that any other person in that top 10 and if we didnt have him, our receiving core wouldve been awful the past the two seasons.

:slappy: wtf were you thinking when you wrote that little gem?

That's like "despite his incompletions, the QB has done a really good job." Great job, Browny... great job.
I'd rather have Cedric Benson. He hasn't put up big numbers sharing the backfield with Jones, but I liked him back then and I still like him now.

Like Mike has pointed out, the receiving corps sucks with or without Braylon and he does have an attitude.

And finally, for that Pitt game -- I remember it. And Braylon put up some great stats, but he also dropped the game-winning TD twice. The offense didn't score a single time, and it's why we lost the game.

Benson is a great unknown. He could be very good, but then again he could be Corell Buckhalter....we don't know yet.

Thank you

Yep...INT return for TD, Kickoff return for TD and a couple FGs....

we already traded for reubon before the draft so your point is moot.

not only has he had to adjust to the nfl, but hes had to do it with three different QB's. chemistry between a QB and WR is very important in timing routes. factor in a line that has a hard time giving whatever scrub QB is behind it time, and id say hes done pretty well for himself.

he never had a legit shot at those last balls against the steelers, and you're just slanting things to your shitty bias.

As I remember it, the one went right through his hands and the other got tipped right to him. And slanting... that's hilarious coming from you
boohoo hoo Braylon has to adjust, was injured bla bla bla... please. His attitude combined with his lack of production isn't worth his #3 overall money and we all know it. Any player who gets himself suspended by a lame-duck coach is more trouble than he's worth.
As for trading for Reuben... gee... how has that worked out for us? Not to mention, I'd be thrilled to have Reuben and Benson back there. A couple of years later we're about to draft AP at #3.... hrmmmmm. Too bad Reuben's shelf life is very short at this point.

Braylon has been dropping easy balls since his days at UM. Blaming it on different QBs is misleading.

Who is "reubon"? And how is getting TWO good Running Backs a bad idea??

Booo hoo hoo....you really shouldn't make excuses for him....

Hitting him in the hands isn't a legit shot? :slappy: well with the way Braylon drops passes, maybe you're right

ETA: I'm a dumbass and actually postively repped that POS post I responded too here. :smash:

im not talking about him dropping passes, im talking about the chemistry that a quarterback and wide receiver have. jerry rice and steve young come to mind. wide receiver is a very sensitive position (lots of busts) and changing quarterbacks isnt a good way to help someone develop.

he didn't have a legit shot at either of the passes, trust me. you criticize his attitude yet completely ignore how he busted his ass to recover from his knee injury. id say thats pretty biased of you. id much rather have him than cedric benson, a power back.

the bottom line is that you all are chomping at the bit to find anything wrong with him because he went to UM. if he went to tOSU there'd be every excuse made for him. he was the right pick.

for a bedtime thought - imagine this - QB Brady Quinn to WR Braylon Edwards TD:biggrin:

You should be, that's what he is doing on the field.

So you would rather have a power back who is 10 years older in Droughns? WTF???

No I find problems with him because he drops more passes than he should and because his attitude was causing issues within the team last year. That has absolutely nothing to do with what he did at scUM.

for a bedtime thought - imagine this - QB Brady Quinn to WR Braylon Edwards TD:biggrin:

Surely that's a wetdream for you, but in reality that doesn't appear like it's going to happen and THANK God for that.

So Braylon rehabbed his own body/knee, and you're using this as a rebuttal to his bad attitude towards others (team/coaches)? TO worked hard at coming back from injury too.

Nope, Jenkins is criticized for dropping passes on this site.

Sorry, but when his Cleveland offensive line resembles his protection in South Bend, the results will be about the same as the "big games" (aka non-inferior competition, USC, OSU, LSU, UM 06).

Until Cleveland fields a strong OL, your desire for Quinn in Cleveland is confusing.
