The Browns attended the pro day of Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn on Sunday and came away impressed. Most of the team's top brass made the trip, including Savage, owner Randy Lerner and coach Romeo Crennel. In a workout conducted by Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis, a good friend of Crennel's, Quinn impressed the Browns. He didn't run or interview with teams. "The fact he could make all his throws, both right and left, he's a polished quarterback," Crennel told the Associated Press. Quinn is one of the players the Browns are considering with the No. 3 overall pick in the April 28-29 NFL draft. - Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland Plain Dealer

buckeyefool;772656; said:No not really, they had said before gree agency ever started that steinback wasn't in the plans. He was going to want tomuch money and the bengals knew they couldn't get him under the cap. As Lewis said in the article, paying big money for g's and te's isn't going to win you championships.
23Skidoo;772671; said:I agree with all that, but the way it's phrased -- they lost Steinbach because the Browns are stupid enough to pay a little money for a Guard. Nevermind San Diego and Dielman or Minny and Hutchinson.
The entire article is just a dig at Steinbach and the Browns organization.
willsonphilips;772664; said:i like quinn to the browns at three...i definitely dont think frye is the answer...but there are a lot of needs they could fill at that position: LT(thomas), QB[quinn or russell(though i doubt hes there)], RB(peterson), or even WR(johnson). cant go wrong with any of those in my opinion.
buckeyefool;772675; said:No he actually commented on all teams that pay that...noticed he mentiond san deigo also with Gates and kansas city.
here is a qoute from the article
?If you look around the league at teams with tight ends, they have no wide receivers. It?s ironic that way. Name me a Kansas City wide receiver. Or a San Diego wide receiver. Yet they have these tights ends who are demanding high salaries.
?You end up getting out of function a little bit.?
