Cleveland Browns (2007 & prior)

Because he has a piss poor attitude and the last thing a re-building team like the Browns needs is exactly that. I'd pitch Edwards in a heartbeat. He is great trade bait and it seems anymore, tall athletic receivers are a dime a dozen. Look what Brees did with all those young WRs. We'll see what happens.

Why wouldn't a rebuilding team want a developing #1 WR?

If he wasn't on the team, our receiving core would be terrible and everyone would be saying DRAFT CJ

Cornerback6 pretty much summed up my position on Braylon. It's not just about him being a weenerine -- it's about the bad vibes, lack of focus, locker room bs, etc. he brings to this team.

As BuckeyeMike80 just noted, the receiving corps is terrible with or without Braylon.
If I could trade Braylon for CJ -- I'd do it in a heartbeat. (Or, to make this easier for you, trade Braylon for a lineman/CB/RB and then draft CJ) From all indications he's got more talent, and far less attitude. He lets the fans scream at GT, wondering why Calvin doesn't get the ball more often, rather than talking smack himself, ripping on Reggie Ball, etc.

The other reason I'd love to trade him is precisely because he does have talent. We wouldn't get anything if we traded Jurevicius or Wilson. Besides, we'd still have Winslow -- who you claimed in the draft thread is "an amazing TE."

You dont think Winslow is an amazing TE? Keep in mind he was playing at 90% this season.

The problem with our receiving core is dropped passes. Braylon has all the tools to be a #1 WR in the league, Jurevicius is a solid #2, and Wilson needs more playing time to develop (why didn't he play until week 16?)

Braylon/Jurevicius/Wilson/Cribbs is not a talentless group.

Private Winslow is an amazing TE, for a SOLDIER :wink2:

Braylon Edwards looks like Charles Rogers redux at the moment.....

Braylon/Jurevicius/Wilson/Cribbs is not a talentless group.

No but you remove Braylon and add someone like CJ and it's 10x better....

:smash:
Just another strawman... I said nothing about Winslow.

I quoted you about Winslow because you just finished saying our receiving corps would suck without Braylon. So which way is it? Do we have plenty of talent or are we completely screwed without Braylon? Make up your mind.

CJ's just a rookie next year. He will have his shares of struggles, plus Charlie and Braylon are developing chemistry.

Foolish to give up on a talent like Braylon after two years.

Braylon Edwards throws a sideline hissy fit in the third quarter of Cleveland's 30-0 loss to visiting Cincinnati, but later blames his "passion for the game'' for prompting the outburst, during which he grabbed the jersey of Browns quarterback Charlie Frye.

Braylon Edwards = TO with just as many dropped passes, but fewer Million$ in the bank and less talent

and less catches and less touchdowns to boot...

If we could get a decent trade for Braylon, I think we should take it. Reality is, though, I seriously doubt anybody would offer us one.

First, fix the offensive line. Maybe that fixes Charlie Frye. Two for the price of one.
No one needs a tough young starting guard more than Cleveland. ... Cincinnati Bengal Eric Steinbach ... is a free agent guard who would make a difference in Cleveland right now.
In the draft, if Wisconsin left tackle Joe Thomas is available at the No. 3 or No. 4 spot, pick him, and say amen.
....
A starting cornerback opposite Leigh Bodden must be found. ...Chasing cornerback Nate Clements in free agency is easy, if Buffalo doesn?t slap the franchise tag on him. Savage got players with Cleveland ties to jump to the Browns in 2005. Clements is an Ohio State Buckeye via Shaker Heights.

I'd kill to sign Nate.
What are the experts opinion on Steinbach?
